While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown exponentially in theaters, the TV side of things has been expanding as well, with a number of existing projects, plus series currently in development. Though Agent Carter is sadly no longer on the air and Most Wanted never even got a chance, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still going strong on ABC, and The Defenders universe continues to grow over on Netflix. On top of that, Marvel has a number of projects in various stages of development that could begin hitting the small screen next year....

We’ve been saying it for years, where’s the iPad’s weather app? It’s been missing from the iPad since day one but many of us expected the app to eventually make its way over. It is one of the few first-party holdouts that haven’t made the leap to iPad, despite being an obvious addition. With the complete overhaul that weather received this year and the acquisition of Dark Sky, we have renewed hopes that the iPad will finally gain the weather app....

Sylvester Stallone has revealed why he didn’t direct Creed 2 - despite that being the original plan. Creed 2 marks Stallone’s 8th appearance as Rocky Balboa, and its fair to say the character has had a storied cinematic journey. The original Rocky was a script written by Stallone himself, who refused to sell it to producers without being attached as star. Despite some hardships in getting the project made, it went on to become an Oscar-winning success....

Ian McShane and Timothy Olyphant are back in the Old West in the first images from HBO’s Deadwood movie. The Deadwood TV series was created by David Milch and ran for three seasons back in the mid-2000s. Set in what’s now South Dakota back in the 1870s, the show followed a motley collection of characters (saloon owners, prostitutes, prospectors, outlaws, and a sheriff) - some fictional, some inspired by real people - as they made their way and, in some cases, fortune in the camp-turned town of Deadwood....

The second season of Daredevil left audiences with a proper cliffhanger. In the shanty law offices of Nelson and Murdock, Matt met Karen Page, told her he wants her to know the truth, then removed the horned mask of his alter ego from a paper bag, saying, “I’m Daredevil.” It was the last moment audiences saw between Matt and Karen, and while it likely won’t receive full attention until season three of Daredevil, you can expect the fledgling lovers to address the elephant in the room in The Defenders....

A few months ago, a GitHub project called the “Super Mario 64 decomp project” made it possible to play Nintendo 64’s iconic game on the web. Now, a developer was able to port it to the Apple TV running at up to 60fps. As posted on Reddit, the user ckosmic was able to port Super Mario 64 to the Apple TV using the sm64 decompilation project and sm64ex. They say the project was originally built for iOS devices, and ever since then, the Reddit user has been making improvements to the game’s usability....

The sitcom Big Bang Theory successfully presented its audience with a cocktail of science and comedy through its 12 year run on television. The show featured the lives and antics of four young scientists and their neighbor Penny, working in Pasadena, California. While comedy was a key attribute on the show, the science was taken just as seriously. Each episode was reviewed by Dr. David Saltzberg, a physics professor at UCLA....

Warning: SPOILERS below for Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Bandersnatch has arrived on Netflix, allowing viewers to choose their own Black Mirror adventure. The Black Mirror: Bandersnatch interactive movie ostensibly puts viewers in control of the story, with your choices influencing which way the story goes. However, while the mechanics are great, the story created leaves something to be desired. Bandersnatch begins with Stefan Butler (Fionn Whitehead), a programmer who dreams of making it as a video game designer....

So far, Marvel has only released three of these deleted scenes online. Each one of them is a poignant, character-focused moment, deepening the cinematic world Coogler built so very well. In each case, it’s individually a shame that they were cut; they fitted thematically, they added fresh context to the relationships, and they explored different parts of Wakanda. But there were valid reasons for cutting each one of them, and - as painful as it may be to admit it - the movie as a whole is probably stronger without them....

Marvel’s Black Widow can give Natasha Romanoff a legacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - without undoing her death in Avengers: Endgame. Although she’s one of the OG Avengers in the MCU, Scarlett Johansson’s character has never really been given much of a chance to shine. There’s been a push for a Black Widow movie ever since Natasha made her debut in 2010’s Iron Man 2, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has been teasing the film for years....

With the launch of The Taken King expansion back in September 2015, Bungie seemed to finally be delivering on the promises of Destiny. The beginning of the second year of DLC for their sci-fi shooter brought about a number of changes, altering the leveling system, nerfing weapons, and introducing a new voice actor for the player’s Ghost companion. Most importantly, the studio seemed to place new emphasis on the storylines of the game, giving players new reasons to care about the supporting characters and the state of Destiny’s universe....

While fans might be clamoring for more of the self-aware robot, here’s why Chappie 2 will never happen. Neill Blomkamp made a huge impression with his 2009 debut District 9. The movie was a wildly ambitious project that managed to combine gory action and fantastic effects while examining topics like xenophobia and racism through a sci-fi lens. The movie also introduced audiences to the mad genius of leading man Sharlto Copley....

T’Challa is the true protector of Wakanda in the new D23 poster for Marvel’s Black Panther. After making his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a supporting character in last year’s Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa/Black Panther has already emerged as a fan-favorite character in the franchise. And with next year’s solo Black Panther film, Boseman gets to truly prove his worth as the character once and for all, as the man caught in the center of a film that, similar to Doctor Strange or the first Thor, promises to take the MCU into entirely uncharted territory once again....

DC’s Rebirth has been a soaring success for the famed comic publisher, offering fresh takes on some old characters while simultaneously bringing others back to their roots. Rob Williams’s Suicide Squad Rebirth series is no exception to this, as he grounds the characters in their familiar dynamic while giving new readers the perfect starting point for this not-so merry band of misfits. Featuring core members like Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and the ever intimidating Amanda Waller, fans also get to explore the mythos of Katana, newcomer Hack, and, of course, everyone’s favorite “Quinnpin of Crime” Harley Quinn....

Everyone knows the story of Deadpool by now: The movie about a Marvel superhero/antihero of questionable name recognition for general audiences, starring an actor with a high profile superhero movie failure on his resume, from a director who was far from a household name, which was released in February - traditionally one of the slowest months of the year for the box office. Against all those odds, Deadpool was a massive, massive hit....

Hours before the full-length trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, director Rian Johnson tweeted that fans who wanted a truly “spoiler-free” experience when they watch the film this December should avoid watching the trailer. However, Johnson said that he was “legitimately torn” because of how good the trailer was. Johnson also corrected Entertainment Weekly, saying that only fans who want to be “100% clean” should avoid the trailer. That wording is misleading - I said IF you want to come in totally 100% clean, avoid the trailer....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the first horror movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to director Scott Derrickson. Marvel Studios revealed part of the titles for the upcoming Phase 4 at their panel in San Diego Comic-Con, and among those is a sequel to Doctor Strange. After his cinematic debut in 2016, the Sorcerer Supreme has appeared in four films in the MCU, including a cameo in Thor: Ragnarok, but a sequel wasn’t confirmed until now....
