Warning: SPOILERS for Star Wars: Darth Vader #6 ahead. – Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli’s latest run on Star Wars: Darth Vader digs into the most fearsome villain in the galaxy’s formative years. The first story arc reimagined his infamous “birth” scene from Star Wars: Episode III ‒ Revenge of the Sith, shedding new light on the origin of the iconic evildoer. It also explored the mythology behind the Sith’s use red lightsabers, as well as how Vader earned and “bled” his blade....

Back in 2011, DC Comics launched their biggest reboot of the DC universe, most commonly known as The New 52. As an attempt to wipe the slate clean, The New 52 started over by cancelling all their previous titles and began renumbering titles like Detective Comics and Action Comics, which had retained their original numbering since the 1930s. Now, DC Comics will be refreshing their titles with the new creative teams for the publisher’s Rebirth event that was given a great deal of time at WonderCon this Saturday....

Fox has scheduled Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile movie adaptation for a theatrical release starting November 8, 2019, while at the same time shifting the release dates back for Shane Black’s sequel/reboot The Predator and Robert Rodriguez’s live-action anime/manga adaptation Alita Battle Angel. The latter two films were previously slated to hit theaters this summer in August and July, respectively, but will now be arriving in mid-September and the middle of December instead....

Marvel fans may want to start planning some theme park getaways, as it’s now been announced that there will be even more superhero attractions being built at Disney Parks. Already, Marvel has been getting a presence at Disney’s theme parks, with Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout acting as a strong example of what Marvel can offer from a theme park perspective. As such, Disney itself has been suggesting that more Marvel attractions would be coming to its parks....

Disney have had a good success rate with movies based on its theme park attractions; perhaps the most well-known adaptation is the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the first installment of which- The Curse of the Black Pearl- took over $654 million globally. The movie has so far spawned a further four sequels, with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales scheduled to arrive in theaters in May of 2017....

Disney is on a roll with its live-action adaptations right now. After the box office success of Maleficent and Cinderella, the House of Mouse enjoyed greater critical acclaim (and bigger box office returns too) with the live-action Jungle Book. Next up is the highly-anticipated Beauty and the Beast re-imagining (the trailer for which broke the record for most views in the first 24 hours), followed by live-action re-imaginings of The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Lion King, Dumbo, and Winnie the Pooh....

She has also taken on several acting projects while slowly building her music career. Often portraying characters that have some kind of musical ability, Beyoncé has also appeared in films that have pushed her out of her comfort zone and forced her to explore her acting potential....

Bird Box has been drawing comparisons to A Quiet Place, but despite some surface similarities, the two horror films are actually quite different. Since it was released in December, director Susanne Bier’s Bird Box has become a hit for Netflix and a viral sensation, with clever and funny memes spreading around the Internet and some fans taking on the “Bird Box Challenge” (which is not encouraged by Netflix). Directed, co-written, and starring John Krasinski, A Quiet Place also became a hit when it premiered in April 2018....

Marvel Studios successfully started the third phase of their cinematic universe last year with the releases of blockbusters Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange. The films introduced a bevy of new characters to the ever-expanding world, many of whom made strong first impressions. Among the fresh faces was T’Challa, a.k.a. Black Panther. Thanks to a well-received turn by Chadwick Boseman in Civil War, many are excited to see the King of Wakanda take center stage in his own solo vehicle, which is due in February 2018....

Blade Runner 2049 has been playing in theaters for a few weeks now, and unfortunately it is not the box office success many hoped it would be prior to its release. Arriving 35 years after Ridley Scott’s seminal piece of science-fiction, the Blade Runner sequel received plenty of critical praise when it first opened. Everything from the breathtaking visuals to strong performances earned high marks, with many in agreement that it was one of the best films of the year....

That’s according to new reports claiming that inside WB, one of the chief architects of DC’s successful TV universe is (or has been) hard at work getting a fan-favorite hero to the screen - after years of trying. It’s been a long time, but Booster Gold may be closer than ever to joining DC’s live-action roster....

Two classic Superman villains will appear in SYFY’s Krypton, the new TV series set on Superman’s home planet decades before its destruction. During San Diego Comic-Con 2017, it was confirmed that both Brainiac and Doomsday would appear in the show. During the Krypton panel, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns told the audience of a present-day conspiracy to prevent the birth of Superman. It implied that Brainiac will be heavily involved in the conspiracy....

The hotly-anticipated Justice League has finally arrived, and it succeeds for the most part in bringing legendarily beloved characters together for the first time on the big screen in an exciting epic that is sure to satisfy a good swath DC fans and beyond, even if there are some rough patches. The Flash and Cyborg leave excellent impressions, and fit right in with the established Batman and Wonder Woman.Aquaman also makes a memorable appearance, despite definitely not talking to fish (sorry, Bruce)....

If a Marvel character shows up in Sony’s Marvel movie, can they still appear in the MCU? Despite producer Amy Pascal’s insistence that the upcoming Venom is not set in the same universe as the proper MCU, rumors continue to persist that Tom Holland might make an appearance in Ruben Fleischer’s anti-hero thriller. For all intents and purposes, as of this writing, there is no official connection between Venom and the MCU just yet, and there may never be, regardless of the best wishes of a hyped-up fandom....

The many lives of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) are on display in a new Japanese poster for Captain Marvel. It’s been a long time coming for Carol Danvers to get her big screen debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios at one point had plans for her to appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron and there was talk of the same for Avengers: Infinity War. But, they decided to give her a solo movie first before she joins the larger storyline....

The live-action Scooby-Doo spinoff movie Daphne & Velma has received a trailer. The film will show what the female duo was up to prior to meeting the rest of Mystery Inc. The direct-to-video film will release this spring. The immensely popular Scooby-Doo franchise revolves around Scooby and his four teenage friends: Shaggy Rogers, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, and Velma Dinkley. Calling themselves Mystery Inc., they work together to solve mysteries that generally involve a person dressing up as a monster or a ghost....

DaVinci Resolve officially launched M1 Mac compatibility back in March and today the latest update is out. Blackmagic Design says it unlocks more major breakthroughs including 3x faster performance, 30% longer battery life on M1 MacBooks, and 65% faster render times. Blackmagic shared all the details on the DaVinci 17.3 release that’s optimized for M1 Macs on its blog. The 3x faster performance is thanks to a new processing engine....

Many people may be wondering who Dazzler is, after a brief but memorable cameo in the movie Dark Phoenix. While Alison Blaire has remained popular among comics readers since her introduction, the mutant heroine had yet to make an appearance in any of the live-action X-Men movies until now. It seems fitting that the singer turned superhero should make her first cinematic appearance in Dark Phoenix, given that the character first appeared in the original Dark Phoenix Saga comics....
