A flurry of alien invasions, not to mention the devastation of Sokovia, have no doubt transformed the geopolitical situation. But it seems Black Panther reveals one of the most unusual twists yet; Wales is an independent nation in the MCU, something that hasn’t happened in the real-world for centuries....

Following the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s tradition of adding one or more extra scenes at the end of the credits, Black Panther included two post-credits scenes, one featuring post- Civil War Bucky without his bionic arm - although that was not the only option for this scene. Set after the events in Captain America: Civil War , Black Panther reunites viewers with T’Challa, who returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king and the new Black Panther....

A Technical Marvel Blade Runner 2049’s easiest shots at Oscar gold come in the below-the-line categories, as just about everyone is in agreement the film is masterfully constructed. Using Ridley Scott’s vision of a dystopian future from the first film as a jumping off point, Villeneuve recreated the world with modern technology, fully immersing his audience in something that was primarily practical, but still sci-fi. The production design is state-of-the-art, and Roger Deakins’ cinematography is characteristically pristine....

It’s been just about ten years since video game developer Inifinity Ward and publisher Activison launched their best-selling first-person-shooter title Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare way back in 2007, and in the time since the eponymous franchise has been on a huge uptick. Serving to essentially remarket and rebrand what had been a series dedicated to World War II simulations, the fourth entry in the long-running shooter series shifted its focus to contemporary warfare and futuristic plot lines....

Captain Marvel actress Lashana Lynch reveals that Carol Danvers has been presumed dead after her initial disappearance in the upcoming Marvel flick. Playing Maria Rambeau, the actress took over the role after DeWanda Wise, who was cast to portray the character originally, backed out due to a scheduling conflict. Said to be one of Carol’s oldest and best friends, Maria is also a capable U.S. Air Force pilot, as well as a single mother....

As we’ve covered a number of times already, expectations for the iPhone 14 lineup are pretty clear. Apple is likely to unveil four different iPhone 14 models across two screen sizes at 6.1-inches and 6.7-inches. While Apple (usually) does a great job at keeping marketing names under wraps until a product is announced, it’s fun to speculate ahead of time. The CW hires The Vampire Diaries series creator Julie Plec to direct and produce the pilot episode for the network’s upcoming Roswell reboot. The original series is centered around the daughter of undocumented immigrants who returns to her childhood home in Roswell, New Mexico and discovers a shocking secret about her teenage crush. Her crush, now a police officer, is revealed to be an alien who has hidden extraterrestrial powers from the general public throughout his entire life....

Daredevil season 3 casts Peter Halpin as Theo Nelson, Foggy’s little brother and an original character created for the popular Marvel Netflix show. Excitement is building for the third season, which premieres tomorrow. The partnership between Marvel and Netflix has been a tremendously productive one, with no less than four seasons dropping on the streaming giant in 2018. Daredevil season 3 is easily the most eagerly anticipated, though, since the show was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2016....

It’s been a great year for the gaming industry, but there are still a few video games left to release in December 2018. Some of the biggest titles of the year have already released, including Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Marvel’s Spider-Man. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep’s finishing moves won’t just be cosmetic, according to Bungie general manager Mark Noseworthy and franchise director Luke Smith. Bungie first demonstrated the finishing move system during the Destiny 2: Shadowkeep reveal, which demonstrated Guardians gaining the ability to smash targets into the ground with their fists or to rip them apart with knives to launch them off into the distance. Since then, more news about Destiny 2: Shadowkeep has steadily trickled out, but Bungie has remained tight-lipped about how finishing moves will slot into the upcoming expansion....

Walt Disney World is introducing more hand sanitizers to Florida’s most popular tourist destination one week after all of the Disney theme parks in Asia closed due to the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19. Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland Park, and now Tokyo Disney have closed to prevent the spread of the disease, according to their websites. With eyes now turning to the most popular Disney park in the world, the Florida parks and resorts say they will remain open for now, albeit with more precautionary measures....

With just a week to go until its season 2 premiere, excitement is building for the return of Agent Carter. The show’s second season will see Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) travel across the United States, working out of the West Coast to try and solve a mysterious murder involving a glowing body. The new season will see the return of a number of important characters, including Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), and Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan)....

Fans of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe hoping to see the Netflix offering deliver plenty of easter eggs, comic references and hints at the larger movie continuity weren’t disappointed by the first season of Daredevil, and now that the second season has finally arrived, the cast and crew have revealed their hidden nods, subtle references, and efforts to stay faithful to the comics. The old classics remain - most of the characters are direct adaptations of their comic counterparts, and the go-to MCU entities (Roxxon Oil) pop up - but many are far more subtle....

Black Panther Used Up T’Challa’s Biggest Villains While the fate of Killmonger in Black Panther has thematic resonance and provides the character with a sympathetic arc, Klaue’s death was another example of Marvel killing off villains they’re done with at the moment. Like Crossbones, Klaue could have easily escaped to torment the MCU another day, especially if Killmonger had delivered him to W’Kabi as a prisoner rather than a corpse. Even better, his demise could have involved his sonic canon malfunctioning in some way, thus setting up his return as a villain composed of sound in the future....

Marvel Comics teased this summer that they’d be bringing another major shift to its universe, with the focus being on mashing up iconic superheroes. This event would stem out of Infinity Wars and got the apt title Infinity Warps. This initiative began with the announcements of Iron Hammer (Thor and Iron Man) and Soldier Supreme (Captain America and Doctor Strange), later to be followed up with Weapon Hex (Scarlet Witch and X-23), Arachknight (Moon Knight and Spider-Man), and last but not least, Ghost Panther (Ghost Rider and Black Panther)....

Black Panther continues to pick up accolades during awards season, earning a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards. When Ryan Coogler’s installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was released back in February, many viewers were impressed by its socially relevant themes and topics, feeling that it transcended the typical comic book adaptation. For those reasons, fans began to make the case Black Panther should be up for numerous awards - something Marvel Studios agreed with....

Marvel actress Scarlett Johansson reveals that her Black Widow solo movie has more fight scenes than any other movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Natasha Romanoff, (a.k.a. Black Widow), has been in several movies in the MCU ever since her introduction in Iron Man 2. After 10 years of being a main character in the Marvel movies, she is finally getting her own solo film. Ever since she took down Happy Hogan in Tony Stark’s boxing ring, Black Widow has been seen as a formidable fighter in the MCU....

Warner Bros. is still developing Booster Gold according to writer and director Greg Berlanti. A few years back, reports surfaced that Berlanti - who is always busy keeping track of the Arrowverse on The CW - was developing a solo movie for Booster Gold. The notion of the time-traveling, fame-seeking hero potentially getting his own movie came as a surprise. Those feelings were only heightened when Berlanti said he was developing it with the idea that Booster Gold wouldn’t take place in the DCEU....
