With their undeniable flare and showmanship, Sony breathed new life into what an E3 press conference could look like. A live orchestra lead by prolific composer Bear McCreary (Black Sails, Battlestar Galactica, 10 Cloverfield Lane) and floating images across the stage, accented by very little speaking with an emphasis on demos and trailer content really set Sony apart from other studios this year. While many of the games debuted are still in development with no hints at release dates, fans were treated to several good looking trailers....

Just as nature abhors a vacuum, so Bludhaven needs a Nightwing, and detective Alphonse Sapienza is determined to fill the gap. Doctor Strange not only represents Marvel Studios’ first real dive in to the ideas of magic, mysticism, and alternate dimensions, but it’s also the production company’s most diverse film yet. That reality of course, and the updating and altering of certain characters from the comics into live-action was the source of some controversy in casting but there’s are many reasons to cast Tilda Swinton as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Sorcerer Supreme in addition to the fact that she’s an Oscar winner....

Marvel’s latest offering, Doctor Strange, continues the studio’s winning streak when it comes to critics, holding steady at a 90 percent rating on aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, a 7.9/10 on IMDB, and a 72 percent on Metacritic. The psychedelic solo movie received critical acclaim, although some did feel that it stuck just a little too closely to the Marvel formula, and that it was especially similar to the first film in the MCU, Iron Man....

Jefferson Pierce is set to fulfill his vendetta against Tobias Whale, during the episode “The Book of Thunder” as teased in the trailer. Since Black Lightning began, the relationship between Jefferson and Tobias Whale has remained a mystery. Whale believed he killed Black Lightning before the series began and Jefferson has exhibited an intense hatred of the albino gangster. Now everything is falling into place and Jefferson is ready for some bloody revenge....

It’s no longer a secret that Donald Glover and his brother Stephen co-wrote a few scenes for Marvel’s Black Panther, but now, thanks to the film’s new audio commentary, one of those scenes has been revealed. Shortly before the film hit theaters in February, it was revealed that the Glover brothers had consulted on the screenplay and were recognized as such in the movie’s credits. At the time, though, it was unclear what they had done to earn that credit....

Letitia Wright is set to break through next year as Shuri in Black Panther and she’s now revealed some new character details for the Wakandan princess. Wright joined the all-star cast of Black Panther last year and for quite some time, her role was unknown. It has since been confirmed that she is playing T’Challa’s sister Shuri - who readers know has quite an important arc in the comics. Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken liberties with characters in the past, it does not appear that they will stray too far away from the source material this time....

Winston Duke wants M’Baku to be the villain in Black Panther 2. The first Black Panther took the world by storm upon its release two years ago, earning over $1 billion at the worldwide box office and becoming the first comic book film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. A sequel seemed inevitable, but the official announcement came later than expected. Black Panther 2 was finally confirmed and slated for a 2022 release last August, and since then, news regarding the movie has been few and far between as Marvel focuses on their other projects....

Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino has teased his plans for a sequel to the movie by describing its opening shot. Based on the novel by André Aciman, Call Me By Your Name starred Timothée Chalamet as Elio Perlman, a 17 year-old musician spending the summer in his family’s villa in rural Italy, who falls in love with a graduate student, Oliver (Armie Hammer) who comes to stay with them....

Ticket pre-sales for Captain Marvel in the first 24 hours on Fandango puts it among the top three Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Marvel Studios is in the final stretch of promoting Brie Larson’s solo movie and the excitement is growing. Not only is it the first female led movie to come from the MCU, but it will also introduce Carol Danvers before she has an influential role in Avengers: Endgame a few months later....

Making a comic book movie that is faithful to the source material is an incredibly difficult thing to do. Many comic book characters have a history that goes back 50-60 years, which means that picking out a version of a character that will make comic book fans happy, while at the same time making it marketable for a wider movie-going audience that may or may not have read the comics is one of the hardest tasks superhero filmmakers have....

Few would have imagined that when young comedian Dave Chappelle first popped up with a small role in 1993’s Robin Hood: Men in Tights that the actor would go on to be one of the biggest voices in comedy. Following that role, he landed a number of other roles in films like Con Air and Blue Streak, continuing to showcase his unique comedic voice.
