Update: Danny Boyle may direct Bond 25 later this year. It looks like the search for the director of James Bond 25 continues, as Danny Boyle just signed on for another project. While the last Bond movie Spectre was a hit, it received mostly lukewarm reviews from critics and fans. The movie also ended on a note suggesting it could be Daniel Craig’s swansong as the character, and the actor refused to commit to another movie for a long time....

Monica Owusu-Breen, writer, executive producer and showrunner of the planned Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, said that the series will feature a brand new slayer. Created by Joss Whedon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran for seven seasons first on The WB and then on UPN. Fox 21 TV Studios, the cable/streaming division of 20th Century Fox TV, is currently developing the series and plans to shop it around to cable and streaming networks later this summer....

Actor Chris Evans, along with other movie fans, was shocked to discover that the black and white film in Home Alone, Angels With Filthy Souls, is not a real movie. Home Alone, the classic Christmas film about an 8-year-old boy named Kevin McCallister whose parents accidentally leave him alone in their house during Christmas, features a scene where Kevin watches an old black and white gangster movie. The old movie, titled Angels with Filthy Souls, is one that Kevin’s parents wouldn’t let him watch, but he indulges in it after he realizes that he has the house to himself....

Apple TV+ has added another blockbuster-potential movie to its slate of projects, with Deadline reporting late last night that the company has added a new film, named ‘Ghosted’, to its slate. The movie will star Chris Evans — previously seen in Apple TV+ series Defending Jacob — and Scarlett Johansson, and is described as a romantic action adventure story. The film will be directed by Dexter Fletcher and produced by Skydance studios for Apple....

If something becomes too unrealistic or impractical to film and it can be replaced during the writing or design process, sometimes things have to be rushed and replaced immediately prior to or even during shooting....

Some of DC Comics’ most iconic and classic graphic novels are getting new life with the DC Black Label imprint as the company plans on republishing some of its older bestselling titles under the Black Label title. DC announced the launch of its Black Label line earlier this year, hoping to recreate the magic of some the company’s darker tales that aren’t necessarily part of DC Comics canon. The comics publisher hopes it can release new titles that will re-imagine the world in the vein of classics such as Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns....

DC Universe has officially found its actor to portray Doctor Mid-Nite on its upcoming series Stargirl. In DC Comics, Stargirl is Courtney Elizabeth Whitmore, an L.A. girl forced to move to the Midwest after her mother remarries. But Courtney soon learns that her stepfather has a secret: He was once a sidekick to a superhero. After discovering his gear, along with a cosmic staff, Courtney becomes a superhero in her own right, one known as Stargirl....

Deadpool 2 has already broken some commercial records, setting new all-time marks for Regal Cinemas advanced ticket sales. The original film was one of the biggest hits of 2016, pulling in a whopping $363 million domestically thanks to strong word-of-mouth and an excellent marketing campaign. Now that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is gone, Wade Wilson is arguably the face of the X-Men movie franchise - as evidenced by Deadpool being the series’ highest-grossing effort to date....

The cast of Doctor Sleep is expanding with some familiar characters and a Westworld star. The interest in adapting Stephen King novels is back at an all-time high. Although plenty of films and TV shows have previously been created around his books, the success of IT reinvigorated Hollywood’s interest - right after some thought The Dark Tower could’ve destroyed it. Several King adaptations have been announced in the months since, such as a sequel to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining....

As AMC’s popular Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul, gears up for Season 4, an up-and-coming new cast member has just been added to the ranks. Deadpool’s Stefan Kapicic will be joining the series in a recurring role. The first full trailer for the fantasy/cop-adventure film, Bright, has just been released online. Helmed by director David Ayer and based on a script written by Max Landis (which Ayer eventually rewrote), the movie has been described as “a contemporary cop thriller, but with fantastical elements” - an interesting marriage of film tropes and genres Financially backed up by Netflix, the project has a designated budget of $90 million as part of the company’s efforts to expand their growing roster of Originals....
