Steve Buscemi is God in the first teaser trailer for Daniel Radcliffe’s new TBS comedy, Miracle Workers. The upcoming limited series comes from Simon Rich, and is his first television offering since his three-season run on FX’s equally irreverent and often times surreal romantic comedy, Man Seeking Woman. This time, though, Rich has set his comedic sights on a much larger target than a twenty-something slacker looking for love. As with Man Seeking Woman, Miracle Workers will be an adaptation of one of Rich’s books, albeit with another title change....

The slow realization of the DC Universe’s Swamp Thing series looks like it is speeding up as new character descriptions offer details about the TV show’s villain. For nearly two months, the show slated for a 2019 release on the DC Universe streaming service has been in a state of preproduction. Now, the cast is filling out, and the production team is in search of the shows’ villain. Len Wein and artist Bernie Wrightson’s Swamp Thing character made his first appearance in a 1971 issue of the DC anthology series House of Secrets....

Deadpool 2 finally brought the X-Force to the big screen, only to waste the team in the process. A new clip from the Better Call Saul season 4 premiere hints at serious trouble in the show’s post-Breaking Bad storyline. In a smart move, co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould opted to make Saul more than just a prequel series; each season includes sequences that are set after Breaking Bad, with Jimmy McGill now living as “Gene,” manager of a Cinnabon in Omaha. During the third season, audiences were left with a cliffhanger, as Gene collapsed at work following a lunch break....

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is now the most tweeted about movie of all-time. Even before Black Panther hit theaters, the movie started to break records - and it has only continued to do so. It wildly surpassed box office projections in its opening weekend, and the momentum behind the cultural phenomenon has only continued to propel Black Panther upwards. It just became the first film since Avatar to win five consecutive weekends at the box office, and will soon top The Avengers domestically....

The currently-untitled Avengers 4 may not be the second half of next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, but it’s clear that the two movies are inextricably linked. For one, only a year will pass between the two films, breaking Marvel’s traditional release schedule for sequels. Cate Shortland is the choice to direct Black Widow. Marvel Studios has had Scarlett Johansson waiting in the wings for a solo movie for nearly a decade, and they’re finally moving forward with such a film. The movie hired writer Jac Shaeffer earlier this year to develop a script for the Johansson-leading vehicle. In the months since, Marvel’s been thoroughly searching for a director with the intention of hiring their first solo female director....

As has become par for the course with the studio’s followups, Incredibles 2 features a role reversal, with Helen Parr taking center stage as the face of a new initiative from telecommunications company DevTech. Captain Cold (Wenworth Miller) is returning to The Flash in 2018 and could return again in the future, assuming the story is right. Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he wanted to do a Ghostbusters sequel, and remains disappointed by the negative online reaction to the 2016 movie. Infamously, news of the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot directed by Paul Feig and starring four female leads was met with immediate backlash by fans who claimed gender swapping the Ghostbusters was somehow ruining their childhoods. The film faced an uphill battle at the box office due in part to the backlash, and ultimately grossed a disappointing $128 million domestically....

CodeCon 2022 has confirmed it will interview a few Apple personalities this year. Apple CEO Tim Cook, former design chief Jony Ive, and Laurene Powell Jobs will join the convention that will take place from September 6 to September 8.
