The latest set photo from DC’s Titans TV show has revealed the Bat signal. It’s increasingly clear that the upcoming series will be heavily influenced by the Batman mythos. Set to air on the upcoming DC Universe streaming service, Titans is a live-action series starring Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy. The plot is still under wraps, although a range of secondary characters have been confirmed, including Curran Walters as Jason Todd, Hawk and Dove (with an eye for the duo getting a spinoff), and even reportedly Wonder Girl....

Diggle’s tenure as the Green Arrow will end in tragedy as a connection between him and new villain Richard Dragon is revealed on Arrow. Since season 1 of Arrow, John Diggle has remained a moral compass for Oliver Queen. In the early days, Dig was the only one pushing back against the Hood’s more brutal tendencies and that’s rarely changed. Still, Diggle has had lapses of his own and his current path looks destined to end badly....

Netflix renewed Matt Groening’s Disenchantment for season 2, while confirming the second half of season 1 will premiere in 2019. Starring Abbi Jacobson (Broad City), the medieval, animated series follows Bean, the foul-mouthed, hard-drinking Princess of Dreamland, who’s more interested in living in the moment than happily ever after. The show has received acclaim for Groening’s trademark blend of sardonic humor and social commentary, as well as its voice work by comedy champions, like Eric Andre and Nat Faxon, and Futurama veterans, Billy West, John DiMaggio, and Tress MacNeille....

Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel acted as a soft launch for what would become Warner Bros’ DC Comics Extended Universe, which kicked into high gear last year with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since Snyder’s Man of Steel semi-followup would be the first live-action meeting between Superman (Henry Cavill) and the Caped Crusader, the actor chosen for the role was bound to be heavily scrutinized. And that was the case when Ben Affleck was cast as Bruce Wayne aka Batman for the film, with many criticizing the choice....

Former The Bachelor star Ben Higgins recently revealed that he’s got the wedding bug, and has teased engagement with Jessica Clarke. Ben was formerly unlucky in love, but now believes he has found a true companion in his current girlfriend. Ben has bee open about his love for Jessica, admitting that she has inspired him to become a better person. Initially, Ben was hesitant to reveal the identity of his new lady, but eventually announced they were dating in January when the couple made it official on Instagram....

Ben Schwartz will provide the voice for Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog. Paramount is bringing one of Sega’s biggest characters to the big screen next year like never before. The studio is currently filming the live-action/CGI hybrid movie, but they’ve done so without announcing who will actually be playing the titular character. That wasn’t a pressing issue as it is a voice only role, which shifted the studio’s focus on casting the main characters....

E3 2016 may go down as being the first E3 in some time where the gargantuan Call of Duty franchise’s presence almost felt like an afterthought compared to the hype afforded to other properties and the burgeoning VR market, talk of which has dominated the first two days of the year’s biggest games industry trade show. Following the theatrical release of director Tim Miller’s stunning box office success from earlier this year, Deadpool has gone on to become the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time, having earned well over $700 million globally thus far, marking it as a higher domestic earner than its competing Marvel associated bedfellows Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy. In the wake of its well neigh unprecedented success with general audiences thus far, Miller’s film is set to reach DVD/Blu-ray this May, coming replete with an Unrated cut and a bonus after credit sequence originally planned for the production’s initial release....

It’s become quite well known how hard star Ryan Reynolds had to push to get 20th Century Fox to make a standalone Deadpool film, much less make it an R-rated one. Considering how amazingly successful Deadpool ultimately ended up being at the box office though - earning over $750 million worldwide on a $58 million budget - it’s likely that more than a few Fox executives are continually berating themselves for waiting so long to give it the greenlight....

Game developer Bungie has had something of a rocky ride with the first installment of the new Destiny franchise was released in 2014 to a mixed reception. The online-only first person shooter is set in a mythic science fiction world, and it broke records on the day of release to become the biggest new franchise launch of all time. After selling over $500 million at launch, Destiny went on to win the BAFTA Award for Best Game of 2014....

Of the various toys-to-life options on the market, the most popular heading into 2016 was Disney’s Disney Infinity, which not only boasted a line-up of classic Disney animated characters, but also the rosters of film franchises owned by the Mouse House; namely, Marvel and Star Wars....

It seems Disney is still developing Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and plans to bring Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales co-director Joachim Rønning back to helm the sequel. The latter is currently filming Maleficent II for the Mouse House, so production on Pirates 6 might not start until after that live-action fairy tale hits theaters in 2020. Starting with The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003, the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park ride-turned swashbuckling adventure series has grossed over $4....

It appears the director shortlist for Marvel’s Black Widow movie has been narrowed down to three frontrunners. Marvel Studios has been very thorough in its search for a filmmaker to call the shots on Natasha Romanoff’s solo vehicle. So far, the studio has met with more than 65 different directors about the Black Widow film, the vast majority (if not all) of which have been women. Black Widow is expected to be one of the first movies released as part of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which helps explain why Marvel is so keen to lock down a director for the project asap....

Warner Bros’ DC Extended Universe officially launched earlier this year with the premiere of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but the studio has a number of titles lined up to hit theaters in the coming years. From adapting well-known characters like The Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman, the DCEU will also bring somewhat lesser known heroes to life like Cyborg and Shazam - and they’ll join a film universe that will include the villain team-up feature Suicide Squad....

Clark Gregg is back working on Marvel Studios movies as he begins filming Captain Marvel. Gregg became a fan-favorite during Phase 1 of the MCU, which made his death in The Avengers that much more devastating. Even though ABC brought him back for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., his revival has yet to be acknowledged by the films. While that’s caused a bit of a divide among fans who want the connectivity to be fluid, Gregg is finally making a return to the big screen....
