Make no mistake, there’s a tremendous amount of expectation from the Justice League film. Fans want to love this film. Fans are protective of these characters and their universes, which means that they’ll have strong expectations about who should or shouldn’t be in the movie. It can be a daunting task for any studio willing to make a movie featuring characters with more than 70 years of comic book history behind them....

The Birds of Prey movie is reportedly targeting an early 2019 start date, possibly making it the next DC movie to film after Wonder Woman 1984. Warner Bros. has been slowly developing its shared cinematic universe of DC Comics heroes ever since Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel debuted in 2013. The universe greatly expanded in 2016 with the releases of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. But, despite these films being financially successful enough, they were divisive....

The creative team behind DC’s streaming series, Doom Patrol, is eyeing Kelsey Grammer for the lead role. The series will follow the DC streaming services’ premiere series, Titans, which is expected to premiere later this year. While no one has been cast yet, it seems that Grammer is being courted for the show’s lead. The DC streaming service has already ordered multiple TV shows to series - some based on iconic characters and teams from the comics and another a revival of a fan-favorite animated series - despite having not launched....

Coming from the high of debuting its first proper trailer which everyone loved, Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin will soon be back on set for some Deadpool 2 reshoots in Vancouver. Directed by David Leitch, who picked up the mantle from Tim Miller, the Fox project will see the return of some of the familiar characters, as well as the introduction of brand new ones, and promises a bigger spectacle for the fourth wall-breaking mutant’s second solo outing....

The Disney and Fox deal is expected to be officially finalized by Thursday. The whole process has not been a walk in the park for both camps. On top of the legalities that need to be taken care of, Disney has also faced competition, with both Sony and Comcast joining the bidding war to acquire 21 Century Fox’s TV and movie division (which is worth $60 billion). Black Panther took home the Best Movie and Best Actor (for Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal as T’Challa) trophies at the BET Awards 2018, making it a big night for Marvel’s phenomenal blockbuster. These wins at the BET Awards 2018 mark the latest in a long list of accolades for the hit film. Previously, Black Panther won four awards, including Best Picture, at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards. It won four awards at The 2018 Golden Trailer Awards, including the top honor of Best In Show....

Producer Jason Blum doesn’t think he would have produced A Quiet Place if the project had come his way. Blumhouse has come to dominate the modern horror scene in the last decade, with the production company’s business model favoring high concept ideas produced on a low budget, which typically peak at $5 million. This method has paid off beautifully, with the company being behind franchises like The Purge, Insidious and the Oscar-winning smash Get Out....

The Cyberpunk 2077 demo from E3 2019 that was shown behind closed doors will finally be going public at PAX West 2019, according to developer CD Projekt Red’s global community lead Marcin Momot. Cyberpunk 2077 was a contender for the best game shown at the conference this year, with many suggesting it smoothed over some of their fears regarding the title’s design direction, in particular how it would handle first-person combat after CD Projekt Red had developed such a smooth system for third-person fighting in their previous Witcher games....
