One of the three co-founders of Blizzard Entertainment has announced that he is leaving his role after nearly thirty years of work with the company. His departure will mark the end of an era for the company. Blizzard was founded under the name Silicon & Synapse back in 1991 by three recent UCLA graduates: Allen Aldham, Mike Morhaime, and Frank Pearce. Silicon & Synapse started out as a company that dealt primarily with porting titles to other systems before it became Blizzard Entertainment in 1994, which was the same year in which they released Warcraft: Orcs and Humans for the PC....

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been rescued by NBC and will return for season 6, but not until the start of 2019. Fans of B99 recently went through about 36 hours of panic and grief after learning that it had been canceled by FOX. However, amid a fierce social media campaign to save the show, several other networks and streaming platforms were already expressing interest in picking it up, and NBC (whose studio arm, Universal Pictures, produces the show) ended up staking a claim on a 13-episode sixth season....

Marvel’s Captain Marvel has found its Doctor Minerva in Humans star Gemma Chan. Fans have been waiting for a Captain Marvel movie for many years, and it’s finally coming in 2019. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the film based on a script from Geneva Robertson-Dworet and a story from Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve, with Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson playing Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel is expected to start filming in March, but the acclaimed comic book movie studio shot a few scenes in late January in order to retain the company’s California tax incentive....

Less than a year after joining Apple, former Cisco executive Stella Low is leaving the company and departing her role as vice president of communications. In place of Low, Apple CEO Tim Cook has appointed Kristin Huguet Quayle as Apple’s vice president in charge of worldwide communications. Until today’s announcement, Quayle had served as the company’s vice president of corporate communications, having joined the company back in 2005. Quayle holds an MBA from University of California Berkeley Haas Business School and Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and political science from Furman University....

Two new posters for Child’s Play have been released, this time with Chucky murdering Mr. Potato Head and Rex from Toy Story 4. Next week, Disney fans and horror fans will both be rushing to theaters, but they will definitely be in separate auditoriums. The Child’s Play series with the demonic doll named Chucky started back in 1988, while the Toy Story movies with the iconic duo of Buzz and Woody didn’t start until 1995....

The currently unnamed Cloverfield 3 may have finally had its title revealed - one that directly links to its off-course space station story. The third entry in J.J. Abrams’ mystery box anthology series was for the longest time known simply as God Particle, a reference to the in-movie element that sends Daniel Brühl, Elizabeth Debecki, and the rest of their space station crew into disaster. Once it became clear Julius Onah’s film was part of the Cloverfield franchise, however, it was understood the movie would get renamed....
