Clubhouse on Wednesday announced a new option on its platform that will let users protect their profiles so that other users cannot see their latest interactions on the app. The new feature comes as a response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and is intended to ensure users feel safe having conversations on the social network. As reported by TechCrunch, the option basically restricts all user activity to their followers. Once the protected profile toggle is enabled, any other user will have to ask permission to follow you, and the rooms, clubs, and replays you have joined won’t be visible to the public....

Gru’s emotional intelligence has never been on the same level as his supervillain know-how, so it was perhaps inevitable that this year’s Despicable Me 3 would see the ex-master criminal dealing with (even more) relationship problems. Whereas Despicable Me revolves around Gru (voiced by Steve Carrell) attempting to become a good father to his adopted daughters and Despicable Me 2 follows Gru into the chaotic and unpredictable world of dating, the third Despicable Me involves Gru discovering that he has a twin brother - one with a full head of hair, no less, and who goes by the name of Dru (also Carrell)....

Disney offered a first look at its Dumbo live-action/CGI reimagining during its film presentation at CinemaCon 2018. The high-flying elephant will make the transition from animated character to being the star of his own live-action feature next year, with Tim Burton directing. Dumbo is the story of a circus elephant who is far from normal; he spends most of his childhood getting teased for having ears that are far too big for him....

One of Marvel’s most powerful romances is back, with Black Panther and Storm confirming their love once again. Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates has been building towards this romantic reunion for some time, and in the new Black Panther #172, the two finally acknowledge what fans have claimed for years: that they are as true a love as Marvel has to offer. As comic fans also know, Marvel made comic book history when their two most prominent African characters, Black Panther and Storm were married in 2006....

Alex Kurtzman, one of the creative minds behind Universal Pictures’ Dark Universe, calls the Bride of Frankenstein script “brilliant” and says that the film will explore a relationship that will feel relatable to audiences. Universal recently named their shared monsters universe the Dark Universe, and it officially kicks off this weekend with Kurtzman’s The Mummy reboot, starring Tom Cruise as cursed treasure hunter Nick Morton and Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet, aka the Mummy....

Marvel Studios is bucking their normal approach to the placement of Marvel Cinematic Universe films in Phase 3. Instead of the movies taking place chronologically, they’re jumping around and coexisting in some instances. The biggest example of this is the decision to introduce Carol Danvers nearly 30 years in the past, by placing Captain Marvel in the 1990s....

Sideshow has unveiled its new life-sized K-2SO figure from the Star Wars anthology film Rogue One at San Diego Comic Con 2017. The lovable re-programmed Imperial Security Droid and sidekick to rebel pilot Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) acted as the sarcastic comic relief in the film, similar to other droids in the Star Wars universe like CP30 and R2-D2 from the original and prequel trilogy and BB-8 from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi....

Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina promotes the actors who play Nick Scratch and Theo Putnam, Gavin Leatherwood Lachlan Watson respectively, to series regulars. The Netflix original has been renewed for parts 3 and 4, and the characters will likely have a lot more screen time in the seasons to come. The complete first part of this Sabrina The Teenage Witch reimagining was released in October 2018, and part 2 premiered in April....

One of the biggest superhero movies coming out in 2016 is Captain America: Civil War. Not only because it will feature a showdown between Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) and Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans), but also because it will feature multiple superheroes from Marvel Studios films past while serving as the launchpad for the introduce of several new superheroes in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s almost as if Civil War is Avengers 2....

CarPlay has always been a temporary way for Apple to get its software into existing cars while they work on something far more innovative. Everyone under the sun knows that Apple is building its own car. When we will see the rumored “Project Titan” though, nobody knows. In the meantime, Apple appears to be expanding its efforts to integrate into more aspects of existing cars from other manufacturers. Bloomberg has reported on Apple’s plans to connect CarPlay with things like air conditioning, batteries, seats, and more....

Constantine star Matt Ryan loved playing off of Batman in Justice League Dark, but his ultimate goal is to pair his character with The Joker. The CW’s Arrowverse has grown considerably since Arrow launched six years ago, but some corners of the DC Universe still seem to be off limits. While Gotham is able to adapt Bruce Wayne and scores of his rogues, The CW has been a bit more limited - often by the movies themselves....

Like some other major blockbuster movies in recent years, Deadpool 2 received an extended cut on home video, which includes a host of alternate, extended, and deleted scenes that weren’t in the theatrical version. In this particular case, and in keeping with the character’s unique comedy style, the Deadpool 2 extended version is called the Super Duper $@%!#& Cut (or just the Super Duper Cut), and it contains an additional 15 minutes of unseen footage, much of which is devoted to elaborating on dialogue, providing backstory for certain characters, and deepening the relationship between the main superheroes....

Surprising everyone as the runaway blockbuster hit of early 2016, Deadpool offered Marvel Comics fans of the notorious Merc with a Mouth the kind of feature-length adaptation of the ever popular character that had been sorely missing from the X-Men movie franchise - unless you count the butchered Wade Wilson appearence in X-Men Origins: Wolverine from 2009. Starting as a passion project between actor Ryan Reynolds and first-time director Tim Miller, the movie has since gone down as one of the most popular superhero films of all time - both in terms of critical reception and box office draw....

If Disney acquires Fox, they could potentially own a part of Batman’s TV history. The Walt Disney Company has been floating the idea of acquiring 21st Century Fox’s movie and TV divisions, namely 20th Century Fox, for some time now. So far, the primary focus has been on the Mouse House (and, in turn, Marvel Studios) gaining the film rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, thus allowing both teams to inevitably join the long-running Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there’s much more to this deal than meets the eye....

Black Mirror’s season 5 episode “Striking Vipers” stars Anthony Mackie and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as two old friends who reconnect via the latest version of their favorite video game - only their male bonding goes a little too far in the virtual reality environment. After a surprising early turn, “Striking Vipers” careens towards a strangely bittersweet ending. Danny (Mackie) is trying for a second baby with his wife, Theo (Nicole Baharie), but is bored by the mundanity of suburban life as a husband and father....
