The X-Men franchise has been on the big screen for almost 17 years. It’s seen its fair share of success and failure while trying different things and expanding with several character spin-off series featuring multiple timelines. Bryan Singer has been there for almost all of it, garnering credits as either a writer and director or producer on almost every film except X-Men: The Last Stand, The Wolverine, and Deadpool. Now he’s a major part of the effort to finally bring live-action X-Men to the small screen, serving as an executive producer for both Legion, and the untitled X-Men project on FOX, the latter of which he’s also on board to direct the first two episodes....

The footage being projected onto the theater-sized screen look like it was taken from a nature show: a wrinkly-necked tortoise creeps slowly along the ground, before being startled and tucking its head and limbs inside its shell; in another clip, the hoopoe bird with its fan-like crest; in another, a vibrantly-colored bluebird. These creatures weren’t filmed for episodes or Life or Planet Earth, though; in fact, they’re not even real. This is test footage created by visual effects company MPC, which convinced director Jon Favreau - who has previously been very vocal about his love of practical effects - to direct a new adaptation of The Jungle Book with only one live-action performer and an entire jungle full of CGI animals....

After much hype and anticipation, Captain America: Civil War is finally here, kicking off the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in grand style. The film has been well-received by critics (read our review) and proved to be a hit with audiences, scoring the fifth-highest domestic opening weekend at the box office. The focus of the marketing from the very beginning has been to highlight the fact that this is a female superhero movie....

The Captain Marvel movie makes a slight alteration to Carol Danvers’ cat, changing a Star Wars franchise Easter egg to a Top Gun one. Just last night, Marvel Studios unveiled the second trailer for their upcoming 2019 blockbuster, attempting to shed more light on the story of the 1990s period piece. Most of the preview showcased all the typical epic action set pieces fans have come to expect from the MCU, highlighting Carol’s incredible powers onscreen....

Cyberpunk 2077 developers CD Projekt Red may have subtly teased Keanu Reeves’ involvement in the highly anticipated game way back in March through nothing more than a Twitter post. The actor’s involvement was officially confirmed at E3 2019, though a leaker did tease that the presentation would reveal a Keanu Reeves-inspired character before the conference started. E3 2019 has debuted and confirmed all kinds of exciting new information for upcoming games, including more details about the Final Fantasy VII Remake as well as a sort-of reveal of the next Microsoft gaming console, the Xbox Scarlett....

Warning: Major SPOILERS for Dark Phoenix. Dark Phoenix killed Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), although eagle-eyed viewers could have predicted that thanks to last year’s Deadpool 2. Mystique died mid-way through the last X-Men film after Jean accidentally killed her. Jean herself met her end during her final confrontation with the movie’s primary antagonist, Vuk (Jessica Chastain). Marking long-time X-Men film producer Simon Kinberg’s directorial debut, Dark Phoenix puts the focus on Jean as she fully transforms into the Dark Phoenix....

One the most surprising box office hits of 2018 so far has been Den of Thieves, and we have some exclusive story details on the upcoming sequel, Den of Thieves 2. The first movie - a 1990s-style cops-and-robbers morality tale - was in development for over a decade thanks to the bankruptcy of original studio Relativity Media, but finally released this past January and despite getting negative reviews from critics, made over double its budget back at the box office (which in Hollywood maths means a profit)....

Bob Iger’s sudden decision to step down as Disney CEO on February 25th was surprising in its timing, but it mot not be as big of a big deal for Disney as some expect. Iger’s retirement had been talked about and postponed for years, so while the timing of it was sudden, that it happened at all was a surprise to no one inside Disney. They’d been preparing for his succession, having chosen Bob Chapek well before Iger gave up the CEO role....

Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that their long-awaited space-themed RPG Starfield will be a single-player game. This marks one of the few things that is known for certain about the game, which has reportedly been in the works since 2008. Starfield would mark the first original game franchise from Bethesda Game Studios in nearly 25 years. The publisher - best known for their long-running Elder Scrolls fantasy RPG series and the most recent entries in the post-apocalyptic Fallout series - stunned gamers with their presentation at the most recent E3 conference....

There will be SPOILERS.] Even though it is stuck with the term prequel – a moniker that typically carries with it a certain justifiably negative connotation – Better Call Saul has, over its first two seasons, managed to distance itself from the inevitable end of its title character, even as he moves closer and closer to Breaking Bad territory....

Picking up after the shocking, tragic ending of season 3, the series will deal with the fallout of Charles McGill’s death, and how that impacts his brother Jimmy’s transformation into the one and only Saul Goodman. Fans of Black Panther have made the M’Baku challenge go viral. There is no denying that Black Panther is a huge hit, breaking box office records and winning legions of dedicated fans. It’s the third most successful MCU film, trailing only the two Avengers movies and is poised to pass Age of Ultron. Audiences are praising the movie - specifically the ensemble of interesting and complex characters who are so much more nuanced than simply heroes and villains....

Almost two months ahead of the announcement, Apple is asking its suppliers to speed up production of the next-generation iPhone. The company expects to ship 90 million units of the so-called “iPhone 13” by the end of this year, according to a new report from Bloomberg. As mentioned by the report, citing sources familiar with the matter, Apple usually orders about 75 million units of a new iPhone for its launch period, which usually runs from September-October to the end of the year....

Blumhouse Productions has expressed interest in potentially rebooting the Paranormal Activity franchise. The series was originally created by Oren Peli, who had directed the first film, Paranormal Activity, as an independent production and screened the horror movie at film festivals throughout 2007. The movie was later picked up by Paramount Pictures and was given a nationwide release in October 2009. Paranormal Activity was an overwhelming critical and commercial success, grossing an astronomical $193....

When Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel debuts in March, it will introduce fans of the MCU to Carol Danvers and tell the story of how an Air Force pilot became on of the galaxy’s most powerful heroes, setting the stage for her to appear in May’s Untitled Avengers film. Academy Award winning actress Brie Larson, who was announced in the role of Danvers at SDCC ‘16, will headline Marvel Studios first female-led film which is set to take place in the 1990s....
