Civil War essentially functioned as The Avengers 2.5, and depicted the team fracturing over internal disagreements. This leads to an epic battle between them in an abandoned airport, which became one of the most talked about setpieces of 2016....

Highly-anticipated sequel Deadpool 2 is officially Certified Fresh on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is the next animated Disney movie to be remade as development has begun to adapt a live-action musical from Victor Hugo’s original novel. Based on that same book, Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame originally released in 1996. It was a modest success for Disney and came at the tail end of the Disney animated renaissance of the late 80s and 90s. While there were animated movies that followed Hunchback of Notre Dame, the film was one of the last big budget theatrical releases in the traditional 2D animation style....

Walt Disney Studios is officially buying 21st Century Fox’s film and TV assets for an approximate $52.4 billion in stock, giving Disney a massive share of the entire film industry. Considering that two major film studios haven’t merged in decades, the question on everyone’s lips is how does this deal shift the filmmaking industry’s landscape? The corporate giants finalized and announced the deal on Thursday, which will grant the Mouse House access to a vast library of content, including franchises such as Alien, Avatar, Kingsman, The Simpsons, Planet of the Apes, and of course, the X-Men and Fantastic Four....

This weekend Marvel Studios kicks off Phase 3 of its shared universe (in North America, anyhow) with the eagerly anticipated Captain America: Civil War. The film has opened to very positive reviews (read ours) and the stage being set for the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe feels new and exciting - a real feat for a series that’s now 13 films deep. James Bond actor Ben Whishaw is thrilled at the prospect of working with director Danny Boyle in 007’s next big screen outing. Whishaw portrayed Bond’s long-suffering gadget man Q in both 2012’s Skyfall and 2015’s Spectre, taking up the mantle from comedy legend John Cleese, who himself inherited the role from the man who made Q such a memorable character in the first place, Desmond Llewelyn. War has been an ever-present aspect of human history, so it only makes sense that films would be made that reflect the many conflicts that have sprung up throughout history. From the more romanticized films of the ’40s and ’50s to the grittier films of today, pretty much every war in recorded history has been given the Hollywood treatment at one point or another. Being able to capture the soldier’s experience in these conflicts can sometimes provide the most emotional and exhilarating experience for movie goers....

The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom about four male scientists who take geek culture to the extreme. Penny, the attractive blonde neighbor, is meant to be the show’s everywoman. The latest outing of Black Lightning includes a fun reference to its Outsiders tie-in with Anissa (Nafessa Williams) sporting her comic book accurate costume. Last night’s episode of Black Lightning was a jampacked one with a lot of backstory unraveling. Titled “And Then the Devil Brought the Plague: The Book of Green Light,” we saw the CW series juggling several subplots, including a few hints about the crime syndicate terrorizing Freeland and tackling character relationships - particularly the dynamics of Jefferson (Cress Williams), Tobias (Marvin “Krondon” Jones III ), and Gambi (James Remar)....

Bourne 5, aka the upcoming and currently untitled fifth Bourne movie franchise installment, will pick up in ‘real-time’ with Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), who has stayed off the grid since the events of The Bourne Ultimatum - which, lest we forget, overlaps with the storyline from Bourne Supremacy, back in 2004. The world has gone through some important changes since then and Damon, who co-wrote the Bourne 5 script with returning director Paul Greengrass, says those developments shall provide the plot substance for this new film....

Fans were surprised the character didn’t get his own show when the original series ended, and have been waiting for resolution over what became of him. Producer Bryan Fuller still hasn’t given up on making season 4 of Hannibal. The franchise revolving around the fictional cannibalistic serial killer started in the early ’80s when Thomas Harris released the book Red Dragon. Over the years Harris released three more books in the Hannibal series, and the character has even made it into several movies, with the likes of Brian Cox, Anthony Hopkins, and Gaspard Ulliel playing the titular character....

Keen to cash in on the current trend of gaming, wild rumors suggest that Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will ditch is classic single-player campaign and instead focus on battle royale gameplay. With the likes of Fortnite and PUBG taking over in the multiplayer combat and last player standing genre, it makes sense that a franchise that has been running as long as Call of Duty move with the times....

Fans are none too pleased with the creepy Sonic the Hedgehog film adaptation posters, and many are taking to the internet to vent their frustrations with hilarious reactions. Dating back to 1991, the character has been included in a number of video games and TV shows over the years, but the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film will be the first ever live-action adaptation of the character. The live-action/CGI Sonic the Hedgehog movie was first announced by Sony back in 2014, but three years later, Sonic switched from Sony to Paramount Pictures....
