DC Comics co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee have confirmed that the upcoming Doomsday Clock event is a sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ iconic 1986 limited comic book series (and later graphic novel), Watchmen. The latter has helped to shape the modern comic book medium over the years and continues to be dissected to this day. Although the series was technically published by DC Comics, it remained separate from the core DC Universe and away from comic book icons such as Batman and Superman....

Dell is discontinuing its Mobile Connect program, which lets users synch their iPhone’s calls, text, and notifications to their computer. While it works with both iPhone and Android, some of these features have just recently come to iPhone. According to The Verge, Dell will stop downloads on November 30 for users in the US, Canada, and Japan. Dell Mobile Connect will no longer be available to users starting on January 31, 2023....

Disney Parks & Resorts has officially unveiled their plans to transform Disney California Adventure’s Paradise Pier into Pixar Pier. The Walt Disney Company’s theme park division has been busy figuring out additional ways to capitalize on their Lucasfilm and Marvel Entertainment acquisitions. Their first project was retooling Twilight Zone’s Tower of Terror into Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, which opened this past summer, while also constructing Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge - Disneyland Resort’s Star Wars-themed land - but that neither project has distracted them from their other properties....

Justice League star Ben Affleck is promising a new version of his spin on the Caped Crusader in November’s entry into DC’s shared cinematic universe. A direct sequel to last year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League finds Batman and Wonder Woman enlisting a group of heroes that includes Aquaman, Cyborg, and the Flash (and maybe Green Lantern?) to take on Steppenwolf, a warlord from the planet Apokolips who has come to recover the mysterious Mother Boxes and conquer Earth in the wake of Superman’s death....

Yesterday, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple would be including satellite communication features as part of the iPhone 13. Today, Bloomberg confirmed the news, clarifying that the upcoming iPhones would include hardware capable of communicating with low-earth orbit satellites, but the software to use it may not be enabled initially. Bloomberg says Apple is focusing on helping users in emergency situations. For instance, satellites will allow users to send texts to first responders, even in remote locations without cell service....

Apple Pay is expanding in Brazil as the largest fintech in the country, Nubank, is adding support for Apple’s own payment system with its credit cards. It’s been years since Nubank customers asked for Apple Pay support. While the fintech wasn’t the first one to introduce Apple’s payment system in Brazil, it’s the most anticipated.
