Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Tatopoulos has shared a brand new look on the design of Parademons. The flock of extraterrestrial minions is set to be one of the villains in November’s upcoming DC Extended Universe ensemble film, Justice League. Recruited and brought together by Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are uniting to defend the earth from the upcoming danger caused by this alien species under the command of Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds)....

After all the buzz of its pre-launch, Clubhouse is still releasing new tools for users who still want to engage with its community. The app is introducing Universal Search, Clips, Replay, and Spatial Audio. One of the things users weren’t able to do until now is search for rooms on Clubhouse. According to a blog post, it’s now possible to use Universal Search to discover people, clubs, live rooms, and future events....

[This is a review of the Conviction series premiere. There will be SPOILERS.] – Earlier this year, it was reported that Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell had been cast in the pilot of Conviction. Although the show had yet to be ordered to series, the casting caused fans of Agent Carter to wonder whether it was indicative of the Marvel show’s cancelation. Atwell assured fans there were no guarantees Conviction would be picked up or Agent Carter would be canceled – and ABC was prepared to make sure the actress could star on both shows at the same time....

Warning: Major SPOILERS for Dark Phoenix. Dark Phoenix is better than X-Men: The Last Stand but it still made big mistakes that kept it far from being one of the best X-Men movies. Writer-director Simon Kinberg’s film is a do-over of the Kinberg-co-written, Brett Ratner directed 2006 stab at adapting Marvel Comics’ The Dark Phoenix Saga, arguably the most popular X-Men story. This time, Sophie Turner portrays Jean Grey, who is imbued with the cosmic Phoenix Force and grows too powerful and malevolent, forcing the X-Men to take a stand against her....

The villains of DC’s New Gods movie will reportedly be Granny Goodness and the Female Furies. Warner Bros.’ cinematic universe of DC films is currently riding a wave of positivity thanks to Aquaman. The Jason Momoa solo film has grossed over $1 billion at the box office and should give the studio confidence to continue developing their massive slate of projects, especially those with lesser known characters. One of these films is New Gods, which will see Selma and A Wrinkle In Time’s Ava DuVernay direct....

Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 will be made available as a free-to-play game later this year. After parting ways with Activision, Bungie has set out to make the Destiny franchise its own. Many were unsure of how the studio planned to do that outside of additional expansions, which were promised by the company as things that were en route. It’s clear now that that’s not all Bungie had planned for Destiny 2, though, as several other major announcements have landed since the divorce....

As both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars continue to create multi-release, multi-property meta-franchises for The Walt Disney Company to annually mine for box office dominance, the studio has decided that it needs a third cinematic pillar to set its entire filmmaking apparatus on: live-action adaptations of its many beloved animated classics. On the one hand, the move makes a great deal of sense; 2010’s Alice in Wonderland served as a lucrative proof of concept, and Maleficent (2014) and Cinderella (2015) have only sealed the sub-genre deal....

Back in 1967, Walt Disney produced an animated musical comedy based on British author Rudyard Kipling’s 1894 work, The Jungle Book, about a boy called Mowgli who’s raised by wolves in tropical India. Since then, the film has been remade as a live-action adaptation in 1994 by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) and a sequel to the original cartoon, The Jungle Book 2, was developed as a direct-to-DVD/video feature before it ended up being released in theaters, back in 2003....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is known for its rabid fanbase, and part of what keeps these hardcore devotees onside is just how well Marvel Studios manages to work fan service moments into its films. Traditionally, the term “fan service” – which refers to creators including moments designed specifically to please fans – is often used in a derogatory sense by pop culture aficionados, and not without cause. When done poorly, these attempts to give fans exactly what they want can come across as forced and actually harm the narrative flow of a story....

Taskmaster is set to be the villain of Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, but there may be a surprise to who is behind the mask. Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff has long been a fan-favorite character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, after supporting roles in a few different sequels and all four Avengers movies, Marvel Studios is finally giving her a solo film. Officially confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020....

Major spoilers for Blade Runner 2049. - Blade Runner 2049 is an exemplary sequel for its complete lack of plot holes and contrivances in relation to the original - with the exception of one key retcon regarding Blade Runner “partner” Gaff. While legacy-quels - belated follow-ups to fan favorite classics - tend to be full of reverence to the original, they typically also wind up creating their fair share of plot holes....

The first footage from Captain Marvel has been shown and Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will soon be the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios is poised to kick off their 2019 slate in style by launching their first female-led franchise. Oscar-winner Larson is set to star as former Air Force pilot turned intergalactic hero Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel....

The big-screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Cats is sure to be one of the weirdest movie musicals ever committed to celluloid. Directed by Tom Hooper, the film has one of the starriest casts for any major movie in 2019, with big names including Jennifer Hudson, Sir Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, James Corden, Dame Judi Dench, and Jason Derulo, to name a few. It’s hard not to be at the very least confused by the Cats trailer, particularly the approach to the main characters....

The latest promotional video for Thor: Ragnarok features the cast explaining what the film’s subtitle is all about. Few could have expected that Taika Waititi boarding the third Thor film would lead to one of Marvel Studios’ biggest hits yet. With the film arriving in international markets this weekend, however, Thor: Ragnarok is set for a massive global opening. When it hits domestic theaters next week, meanwhile, Thor 3 is estimated to earn over $100 million....

Darksiders has never taken things by halves. From the word go, the series has plunged players into an over-the-top, extremely stylized version of the Biblical apocalypse, with the Four Horsemen stuck in the middle of an epic conspiracy that runs deep between Angels and Demons alike. Thankfully, Darksiders 3 is no exception, once again ignoring subtlety in favor of full-on action. As with Darksiders and Darksiders 2, Darksiders 3 gives the player control over another of the Four Horsemen - this time, Fury....

Dateline podcast shows are now offering a subscription option on Apple Podcasts, giving subscribers early access to new episodes, as well as bonus episodes every month. Dateline NBC says that podcasts offer a number of benefits over TV shows … Dateline podcast subscription Digiday reports on the new subscription deal. The company says that the number of Apple Podcast subscribers has increased threefold since June 2021. The offering will give subscribers an ad-free listening experience across Dateline’s roster of nine podcasts and showcasts, one-week early access to new episodes and series and bonus episodes every month....

Warning: SPOILERS up to Batman #73 Nobody expected the “Martha” moment in Batman v Superman, delivering what is likely to remain the most iconic moment in Martha Wayne’s story. But believe it or not, the Batman comics have just dropped a “Martha” twist of their own… which puts the shock value of the movie to shame. On one hand, it’s a refreshing change of pace to see Bruce Wayne’s mother become such a central figure to his adult life....

DC Universe reveals Titans season 2 premiere date during the service’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Titans was the first live-action original series to debut on the DC Universe subscription service, which includes whole catalogues of DC Comics as well as animated and live-action shows and movies. For its part, Titans is a more adult adaptation of DC’s Teen Titans superhero team. The service obviously has a great deal of confidence in the series since before season 1 even officially premiered last October, DC Universe renewed Titans for season 2, which began filming earlier this year....

The relaunch of Doctor Strange this summer will see the Sorcerer Supreme heading to outer space to restore his magic. Over the past few years, Marvel Comics has done a number of reboots and new first issues for many of its characters. And it looks as if the current events will once again lead to another Marvel relaunch. The good news is, the fresh starts we’ve heard about so far all sound exciting....
