After surfacing in an FCC filing last month, Bose today has officially taken the wraps off of its highly anticipated update to the QuietComfort 35 headphones. The new QuietComfort 45 headphones pack a familiar design, with improvements to noise cancellation and transparency modes to rival the AirPods Max and other higher-end offerings. Bose touts that the QC 45 headphones feature “just two settings,” both of which are powered by a new active noise cancellation system and a new proprietary digital chip....

Aardman Animations is finally developing a sequel to its stop-motion animated film Chicken Run. The original Chicken Run movie hit theaters in 2000 and it remains the highest grossing stop-motion animated feature of all time, with a worldwide take of $225 million. Widely celebrated by critics and general audiences alike, Chicken Run was directed by Aardman cofounder Peter Lord and Nick Park (creator of Wallace and Gromit) and features the voice talents of Mel Gibson, Miranda Richardson, Timothy Spall, and Imelda Staunton....

Chris Hemsworth revealed he’s not a fan of Marvel Studios’ sequel to Thor, Thor: The Dark World. The film was Hemsworth’s third turn at playing the God of Thunder and the character’s second solo outing. While the movies performed well at the box office, it’s regarded by critics as mediocre in comparison to other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Released in 2013, Thor: The Dark World pitted the God of Thunder against the dark elf known as Malekith, who sought to use a weapon called the Aether to attack the Nine Realms....

The Cowboy Ninja Viking comic book movie adaptation has added two new writers ahead of a planned summer 2018 shooting start. The upcoming film is a passion project from Chris Pratt, who already has two major franchises to his name - with Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy (three, if you count The Avengers) - but they aren’t enough for the actor. Now, Pratt wants to launch a new property based on the oddball Image Comics title Cowboy Ninja Viking....

The comic book death is a fascinating thing. We never really know what to make of it when one of our favorite characters dies. This happens in large part, because nobody in comic books really dies, at least not forever. This is particularly true if the character who “dies” is popular. Creed II is officially the box office champion for the Rocky franchise thanks to a franchise-best opening weekend. Released three years after Ryan Coogler’s original Creed, the Steven Caple Jr. directed sequel revisits characters from Rocky IV, with Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed facing off against Ivan Drago’s son Viktor (Florian Munteanu). Space opera TV series Dark Matter has been cancelled by Syfy after three seasons. Airing on both the Space Channel and Syfy, the Canadian series was created by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, who wrote the comic book series of the same name. Each season ran for 13 episodes in the summer. The show premiered in July 2015, with its final episode airing last Friday. Dark Matter told the story of six people on a spaceship called the Raza who awoke from suspended animation with amnesia....

DC Comics has announced that the company will be shuttering its long-running Vertigo imprint. More recent imprints, DC Zoom and DC Ink, will be ending as well. Founded in 1993, Vertigo was created so that DC could publish more adult stories that wouldn’t be bound by the constraints of the Comics Code Authority. Since then, the imprint has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed titles not just in DC Comics, but for the medium in general....

NBC is ready for Brooklyn Nine-Nine to join the peacock network’s family of programming by giving season 6 a cheeky Law & Order-style teaser. The cop comedy endured a wild ride last year, as it was canceled by FOX prior to the season 5 finale. As is increasingly the case the cancellation was mercifully short-lived, as NBC stepped in, adding the ensemble workplace sitcom to the network’s impressive comedy lineup. The rise and fall and subsequent rise of Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been well documented over the past year or so, and while it’s always good to relive a victory (small as though this might seem), it’s high time for NBC to start marketing the show’s triumphant return....
