Chris Hardwick is returning to AMC’s program Talking Dead following their investigation. Just over a month ago, Hardwick was accused by his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra of emotional abuse and sexual assault. After the claim was made, Hardwick’s future immediately was thrown into question. It didn’t take long for Nerdist, a website he founded but since moved on from, to scrub any mention of him from their site. But, it was AMC who was put under the most pressure....

The writers behind Deadpool 2 want to tackle a future Avengers film. Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have become two of Hollywood’s biggest writers over the last few years. Thanks to subverting the superhero genre with the help of Ryan Reynolds, they’re tackling a number of projects in the future. As of right now, there’s no official announcement that they’ll return to write the Merc with a Mouth in future films, but this break in their schedule has allowed them to take on several new projects....

For many loyal viewers of HBO, the one original program that is in most dire need of a more satisfactory ending would be the Western serial drama Deadwood, which saw abrupt cancellation way back in 2006 after just three seasons on the air, and talks of a fourth season, consisting of two two-hour long movies, still on the table. Talks of a fourth season have been in the air for quiet some time now, though of late they have consisted largely of former cast-member speculation - like when Garret Dillahunt, who played Francis Wolcott and Jack McCall on the show, posted a fairly ambiguous Tweet 2015 hinting at the return of the much beloved property....

Between Disney+ and Netflix, many subscribers are getting more of what they want – a cheaper price with Disney and more features with Netflix. Back in March, Disney announced it will release a cheaper, ad-supported plan later this year on Disney+. With over 100 million subscribers worldwide, the company is anticipating the majority of its users will move to this plan. Disney will raise its revenue through ads McCarthy adds that Disney+ ad inventory will sell at a premium to increase the average revenue per subscriber....

Brandon Routh’s Superman in the Crisis on Infinite Earths Arrowverse crossover will be the Kingdom Come version of the character. Even though Routh previously played Superman in Superman Returns in 2006, he has spent the last several years playing a different DC hero as part of the Arrowverse. He’s starred in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow as Ray Palmer (aka The Atom), but is now getting the chance to suit back up again as Superman....

In shocking news, Bungie and Activision will be parting ways after teaming up to create the Destiny franchise. This news arrives following statements from both parties that confirm that Activison will be handing off the Destiny IP to Bungie, as the development studio prepares to self-publish the series moving forward. There is still said to be a fair bit of transition left to be done, but Bungie has assured its fans that they and Activision are working to make the transfer a seamless one....

Star Trek is known as both a galaxy of talent as well as a potential career killer. The show has been through so many actors and incarnations that it’s no surprise that some faces are much more beloved than others. Despite talents demonstrated in previous TV shows and films, many actors simply flopped when it came to Star Trek. Some brought pretty faces without much substance, while others not only paved the way for future stars to enter the Star Trek universe, but revolutionized television for the entire world....

CBS hopes to have different Star Trek shows airing on CBS All Access all year long. CBS took a huge risk with Star Trek: Discovery as it was supposed to be the first series produced and developed for the company’s new subscription streaming service. But due to several setbacks, including the exit of show’s co-creator Bryan Fuller on October 2016, The Good Wife offshoot, The Good Fight, took over its spot being the first scripted project for the video-on-demand (VOD) platform....

This past weekend at the D23 Expo, Hasbro introduced the Black Panther figure from the Marvel Legends 12-Inch Series, ahead of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film’s release next February. With most of the Disney news that came from last weekend’s D23 having to do with trailer reveals, casting announcements, and theme park attractions, some of the smaller figures and reveals could have fallen through the wayside. In particular, the various types of merchandise that were unveiled from Disney, Lucasfilm and Marvel properties are exciting to see, giving the individuals who are interested in collecting these items for their shelves....

One of the more successful films of the summer 2015 season was Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. Earning $682.3 million at the worldwide box office and garnering very positive reviews (read ours), the franchise’s fifth installment showed that Ethan Hunt and his team of spies are still going strong nearly 20 years after the first film. As such, many fans are excited to see Mission: Impossible 6, which is aiming to begin production in 2016....

The most somber moment of any Academy Awards telecast is the “In Memoriam” segment, wherein the names and faces of Hollywood professionals who passed away during the previous year are honored one final time. 2016 was an especially rough year, with iconic names like Wes Craven, Leonard Nimoy, Alan Rickman, Christopher Lee and more counted among those whose like we won’t see again. Now, only a day later, we know at least one name to be counted at next year’s presentation: legendary actor George Kennedy has passed away at 91....

SNL alum David Spade is jumping from co-starring in Adam Sandler’s Netflix movies to leading an HBO comedy series created by Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody. The pair responsible for Tully, Young Adult and Juno, reunite to tell the story of a formerly heroin-addicted grunge musician (Spade), and the young actress who changes his life. Rising to fame on Saturday Night Live during the 1990s - alongside the likes of Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, and Chris Rock - Spade was known for his often snarky, dismissive characters as well as a segment titled “Spade in America”....

Deadpool has been tearing up the box office, breaking records for the superhero genre as well as early-year releases. Part of the reason for this is the respect that the film pays to its main character, especially in regard to his loose grasp of reality and penchant for breaking the fourth wall. It looks like this feature of the character will be pretty consistent in his future appearances, too. According to screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, they’ll have a hand in everything that Deadpool appears in… including the X-Force movie that may spin off from Cable’s appearance in Deadpool 2....

Barely a month along, 2017 is already unleashing some exciting new movies, from superheroes to science fiction to action to adventure. Among the anticipated offerings next month is the Matt Damon-fronted epic, The Great Wall. The film has already stirred up some controversy, due to whitewashing concerns, although its director has dismissed the claims. Fans of Legendary Pictures’ other big beastie pictures, like Godzilla and Pacific Rim, may be willing to overlook the controversy, though, if the film, set in 19th century China, delivers on its monster-mashing premise....

With less than a month before the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3 kicks off with Captain America: Civil War, anticipation is at an all-time high. Critics lucky enough to have already seen the movie have been very positive, with some calling it the best that Marvel Studios has produced to date. Not only will we see Iron Man and Cap go head-to-head, but also enjoy the introduction of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther - both of whom are getting their own solo outings over the next couple of years....

According to a new report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, Apple has recently demoed its upcoming AR/VR headset device to the Apple company board of directors. This is a good indicator that the project is at an ‘advanced stage’ and that a public product launch is imminent. Bloomberg previously reported that a consumer launch for the headset is planned for 2023 but an early announcement of the device is likely. Today’s report also said that the development of the headset’s operating system has ramped up in recent months....

Paramount is reportedly developing a sequel to their soft Transformers reboot Bumblebee. The Transformers live-action movie series kicked off with Michael Bay’s 2007 movie of the same name, which starred Shia LaBeouf as a teenager whose first car turns out to be a robot. Bay’s talent for large scale action helped turn the movie into a huge hit, though some critics found the story lacking the action scenes incomprehensible due to the confusing designs of the Transformers themselves....

Efforts to fix the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s villain problem go back to Captain America: Civil War. While there was a lot more attention given to Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Killmonger in Black Panther, Zemo is an underrated villain with great motivations and a killer twist on an overused trope. For most of Civil War, Zemo seems like the stepping stone to the real villains: the other Winter Soldiers. He frames Bucky for the UN bombing, all the while hinting that he’s going to do even more damage by releasing all the other Winter Soldiers....

Filming is now underway on Captain Marvel, which has been confirmed by a new set video. Marvel Studios is nearing the end of their Phase 3 release slate with the highly-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War hitting theaters next month, which marks the beginning of the end of the MCU’s first saga. But it’s not over yet. After Black Panther, Avengers 3 and Ant-Man and The Wasp are the only other MCU movies on the way in 2018....
