A new work of fan art depicts what a real-life version of The Huntress might look like in the upcoming DC Comics film Birds of Prey. While the movie has not yet been given the green light from Warner Bros., it does have director Cathy Yan and screenwriter Christina Hodson attached to the project. This, coupled with a number of rapid-fire rumors regarding casting on the movie, has led many to speculate that it may be the next superhero movie to enter production at DC Films....

Apple is expected to unveil its mixed reality handset project as soon as spring. Now Bloomberg is reporting that Apple has settled on a name for the operating system that will power the product: xrOS. “Internally, the company recently changed the name of the operating system to ‘xrOS’ from rrealityOS,’ said the people, who asked not to be identified because the project is still under wraps,” Mark Gurman reports for Bloomberg....

Captain Marvel actress Lashana Lynch says that her character, Maria Rambeau has a “superhero quality” of her own in the upcoming film. In Captain Marvel, Lynch plays the role of Carol’s friend and fellow pilot, as well as the mother of Monica Rambeau, who in the comics is the second character to carry the mantle of “Captain Marvel”. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel will serve as the first movie in the MCU to feature a female superhero as the main protagonist....

Here’s why Chevy Chase unexpectedly left Community toward the end of the show’s fourth season, and his departure wasn’t just a personal decision. The seasoned actor portrayed the role of Pierce Hawthorne beginning with the pilot episode, which originally aired in 2009. First published way, way back in 1870, Jules Verne’s aquatic adventure novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea has proven to possess massive staying power, being discovered anew by each successive generation of readers. Similarly, the book has long been a popular target for screen adaptations, with the first dating back to the earliest days of silent cinema. Perhaps the most well-known 20,000 Leagues movie came in 1954, fronted by Hollywood legends Kirk Douglas and James Mason and produced by Walt Disney himself....

A new Quentin Tarantino project is reportedly in the works, a Django/Zorro movie that would serve as a sequel to Django Unchained. Released in 2012 to great acclaim, Django Unchained was Tarantino’s first foray into the western genre, and starred Jamie Foxx as the titular gunslinger. The film proved to be incredibly popular as it became (and still is) his highest-grossing directorial effort, and won multiple Oscars. Even with all this success, Tarantino moved on to direct The Hateful Eight, and will see his ninth film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood hit theaters this summer....

The number of billion-dollar apps has now hit double figures, according to the latest App Annie report. The number of apps grossing more than $100M last year is also well into three figures.
