The Dark Lord will rise in season 2 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, with casting reportedly underway. The Netflix series, based on the Archie Comics title of the same name, released its first season just before Halloween. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also wrote the source material and serves as showrunner on fellow Archie adaptation Riverdale, adapted the series. Netflix displayed huge confidence in the show, renewing it for a second season before season 1 even aired, and announcing a holiday special for December....

The oft-delayed Crackdown 3 is finally slated to release in February 2019. Crackdown 3 is the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 Xbox 36o exclusive Crackdown 2, which itself was a sequel to the 2007 title Crackdown that became famous for releasing with an access code to the Halo 3 multiplayer test beta. Dave Bautista doesn’t want to star in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 if the movie doesn’t use James Gunn’s script. Earlier this summer, Gunn revealed that he had completed and turned in the first draft of his script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which he said he had poured his heart into. But then several of Gunn’s old tweets resurfaced leading into San Diego Comic-Con 2018 - much of which were jokes on pedophilia and rape - that quickly resulted in Walt Disney Studios firing Gunn from the project....

David Ayer is slated to direct Shia LaBeouf in a new crime thriller titled Tax Collector. This will be the second project Ayer and LaBeouf have worked on together, with 2014’s WWII-centered thriller Fury being their first collaboration. Ayer is currently in-between Bright and Bright 2 at the moment, with his DC spinoff Gotham City Sirens hanging in limbo, which means he’s open to work on other projects while he continues prepping his Netflix sequel....

A new Black Panther comic overseen by Marvel Studios introduces two new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shang-Chi villain Razor Fist and Jack Kirby creation Princess Zanda make their MCU debut in Black Panther Prelude #1, a story set years before audiences were introduced to Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War. Black Panther will take viewers to the fictional African country of Wakanda to explore a whole new corner of the MCU, complete with new heroes and new villains....

Cable giant Comcast - the owner of NBC Universal - confirms its plans to try and outbid Disney’s offer for the assets of 21st Century Fox. Back in December of last year, a huge media deal that had been rumored as in the works for a while was finally made official: Disney was set to buy Fox, or at least a substantial portion of it. While a deal that huge takes years to fully complete, it also obviously wouldn’t have been publicly announced if both parties involved weren’t intending to proceed....
