It appears to show just why Fury became a believer in superheroes, with Captain Marvel serving as the inspiration for the entire Avengers Initiative....

Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he came close to portraying Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The actor has been playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011, most recently reprising the role for mega-hit Avengers: Endgame. Remy LeBeau made his first live-action appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Taylor Kitsch in the part. The film wasn’t exactly well-received, but Gambit has always been a popular character. It wasn’t too long before a movie centering on the Ragin’ Cajun was in the works, with Channing Tatum in the titular role and possibly directing....

Legendary voice actor Jim Cummings has played over 400 roles including Darkwing Duck, the Tasmanian Devil, Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. The last two, he reprises in Disney’s newest live action film Christopher Robin. Cummings voices the soft spoken Pooh and exuberant Tigger opposite Ewan McGregor, as Christopher Robin, and Hayley Atwell, who plays Christopher’s wife Evelyn. Cummings sat down and talked about the Pooh reboot, what the movie says to young people, and how doing voices on Christopher Robin was different....

In December of 2020, Google acquired a Chromium-based operating system that turns old PCs into Chromebook-like devices. CloudReady is now becoming “Chrome OS Flex” and is launching in early access today. CloudReady’s big pitch was how it extended the life of old PCs that were no longer getting official updates. That software is now becoming an official Google offering with Chrome OS Flex. Billed as a “free-to-download operating system” by Google, the original team directly integrated “the benefits of CloudReady into a new version of Chrome OS....

The iPhone’s lock screen has gone through a small handful of design changes over the years, but it’s never truly been supercharged. With iOS 5, Apple improved the way multiple notifications appear. In iOS 6, they introduced the persistent camera shortcut. In iOS 8, notifications gained quick reply. iOS 10 brought widgets with a quick swipe to the left. DC’s upcoming Constantine animated series set to air on CW Seed has received a premiere date, and it’s thankfully not too far away. Constantine of course first came to the screen via Francis Lawrence’ 2005 film, starring dark-haired American actor Keanu Reeves as the notoriously British, blonde-haired character. While that movie has its fans, it wasn’t until the 2014 premiere of NBC’s Constantine TV series that the dabbler in the dark arts was really captured in a fashion at least mostly accurate to his comic origins....

Yesterday, Apple officially announced a new Tap to Pay on iPhone feature. This feature turns your iPhone into a contactless payment terminal – the initial implementation of this capability will target businesses, with Apple making new tools available to developers so companies like Stripe can integrate Tap to Pay into merchant applications. But could this feature also hint at something Apple could add to the iPhone for peer-to-peer payments on a system-level with iOS 16?...

Dark Phoenix is about to lose almost half its theater presence. The latest X-Men film is doing poorly both critically and commercially. It had the worst opening of any X-Men movie, and the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score in the series. Dark Phoenix’s failure can be attributed to a number of factors. Certainly, the Disney/Fox deal did not help build anticipation for the movie. Knowing the characters would be reverting back to Marvel likely left many viewers with little desire to see the movie in theaters....

Security researchers have released details of DazzleSpy – Mac malware that enabled key-logging, screen captures, microphone access, and more. DazzleSpy was used to target Hong Kong democracy activists, initially through a fake pro-democracy website, and later through a real one, in a so-called watering hole attack … We learned yesterday about a hijack of the Mac webcam. That discovery was, thankfully, made by a cybersecurity student who reported it to Apple....
