Mark Bozon, one of Apple’s top gaming executives, has left the company after 12 years to work for Disney. His new role will be senior creative leader for cross-divisional Next Generation Storytelling initiatives, which includes Disney’s “metaverse” ambitions. While Bozon shared the news of his departure on May 20, he didn’t mention his next plans. He shared that his new role is “an absolute dream job” and thanks his Apple team....

William Phipps - a character actor most famous his work in various westerns and science-fiction films, and for lending his voice to Prince Charming in Walt Disney’s Cinderella - has passed away at the age of 96, as reported by Variety. While no official cause of death has been announced at this time, entertainment industry author Tom Weaver - a friend of Phipps - confirmed that the actor had been battling lung cancer, which had been recently complicated by pneumonia....

Disney made all sorts of headlines last year with its best-ever box office haul, thanks in no small part to the likes of Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But there’s an even more profitable sector of the company: Disney Parks and Resorts, which is in charge of all the various theme park, cruise line, and resort vacation destinations across the entire globe. This division is also expected to benefit from these big-name IPs, such as next decade’s Star Wars Land in both Florida and California and, of course, this summer’s Pandora: The World of Avatar in Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park....

Marvel Studios has announced that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the official title for the Sorcerer Supreme’s next solo film. Benedict Cumberbatch first assumed the role of Dr. Stephen Strange in 2016’s Doctor Strange before later appearing alongside the rest of the MCU in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. This sequel will pick up with Strange following the events of Endgame and will see him begin more deeply exploring the mysteries of the multiverse....

Scott Derrickson is returning to direct Doctor Strange 2. Marvel Studios is just starting to reveal details on the end of Phase 3, but their Phase 4 plans are already beginning to take shape. One major question regarding how things could shake out though was the status of the next solo movie for Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch starred in his first MCU movie in 2016’s Doctor Strange, where he was introduced as the MCU’s Sorcerer Supreme....

The IPPAwards page is now showing its pick of the best iPhone photos of 2021, with a surprising winner in the top category. Above is the Grand Prize Winner… Transylvanian Shepherds was awarded the Grand Prize, shot on an iPhone 7 by Istvan Kerekes. It’s an interesting shot, but to my eyes doesn’t have an especially great composition, and the subjects are very underexposed. Bonding won Sharan Shetty the iPhone Photographer of the Year award....

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Kickstarter page recently posted an update stating that the game’s promised stretch goal of a Roguelike mode has been canceled. This was one of many updates included in the post, each of which detail additional new game modes, patch notes, and news about features in progress. Although fans of roguelike gameplay will undoubtedly be disappointed by this development, Bloodstained still has exciting new content on the way that’s sure to keep fans engaged with the game for months to come....

Will Smith and David Ayer explain the ins-and-outs of Bright, their upcoming Netflix buddy-cop action-fantasy film, in a new featurette. Written by Max Landis, Bright was picked up in March by Netflix - which spent $90 million to acquire the project, as part of their on-going effort to become legitimate players as producers of major-studio-level genre films. Set in Los Angeles in a world where fantasy characters live alongside humans, Bright stars Will Smith as human cop Daryl Ward, who is reluctantly partnered with Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), the first Orc ever to make the police force....

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Bumblebee. - Bumblebee director Travis Knight already has ideas for a sequel. The Transformers franchise has been struggling in recent years, with 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight grossing only $605.4 million at the global box office - and, to Paramount’s surprise, just $130 million domestically. Bumblebee is essentially a soft reboot, an attempt to make a very different kind of Transformers film. The movie has received critical acclaim, as evidenced by its current Critic Score of 94 percent on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes....

One of the most surprising delights of 2018 was Bumblebee, a Transformers prequel spinoff that completely reimagined the franchise. While many fans have been excited by the return of G1 designs and Cybertron action sequences, the heart of the movie is the relationship between the titular B-127 and his human companion, Charlie, played by Hailee Steinfeld. Marvel has plans for Kamala Khan, the popular Ms. Marvel - and the studio would be wise to introduce her in a Captain Marvel film. Created in 2013, Kamala Khan remains Marvel’s foremost “Legacy Hero,” a popular and beloved character. She’s an everyman hero in the mold of Peter Parker, a teenage Pakistani American from Jersey with shapeshifting powers. Khan won plaudits as Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic....

Actor, alien-believer and skull-bottle vodka purveyor Dan Aykroyd thinks his cinematic brain-child Ghostbusters should be revived again, this time as a live-action Netflix series along the lines of Stranger Things. The only current semi-hard plans for further Ghostbusters content involve an animated film that Ivan Reitman is helping to develop. Currently, there are no firm plans for a sequel to the 2016 Ghostbusters live-action movie reboot. Ayrkoyd originated the concept of Ghostbusters back in the day as a possible vehicle for himself and fellow SNL alum John Belushi, and ultimately sold director Reitman on the idea....

The legendary Rick Baker has designed a new bust of The Joker for DC Collectables. Baker is a legend in the field of special effects make-up and is responsible for some of the most memorable movie monsters of all time. He was behind the transformation sequence in An American Werewolf In London, which is still considered one of the best practical effects sequences ever filmed. Baker has worked on projects like the Men In Black trilogy, Videodrome, Hellboy, and the original Star Wars....

As some fans theorized, Doomsday Clock #4 confirms he is the child of a key (but minor) character from the original Watchmen story. The first Rorschach, Walter Kovacs died at the end of Watchmen, choosing to let Doctor Manhattan kill him rather than be a party to Adrian Veidt’s conspiracy (to bring about world peace by faking an alien invasion)....
