Update: According to a new report by WSJ, the Foxconn assembly plant in Zhengzhou was hit by flooding on Wednesday. Power went out and water seeped into the site, employees say, but the damage appears limited. After the torrential rain in Zhengzhou in China this Tuesday, Taiwan electronics manufacturer Foxconn said that its factory hasn’t been impacted by major flooding in the city. Netflix’s cops-and-orcs movie Bright gets the Honest Trailers treatment, including some pitches for possible sequels. Though Bright fell flat with critics, the movie proved a hit with Netflix subscribers who streamed it 11 million times in its first weekend. Netflix has now committed to at least one sequel, with stars Will Smith and Joel Edgerton returning. The video game adaptation curse has been broken, thanks to Netflix’s anime Castlevania series being certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite several attempts, Hollywood studios have continued to struggle with adapting video games into feature films and TV shows throughout the years, though creating games based on movies and shows hasn’t been as difficult for gaming developers. Chris Evans has an idea for his next movie: a buddy comedy with Avengers: Endgame co-star Chris Hemsworth. Avengers: Endgame, which continues to break box office records, marks the seventh Marvel film for both Evans and Hemsworth, and they’ve appeared together in four films total. Director Christopher McQuarrie is very open to directing a new Star Trek movie. Filmmaker Joey Helms has produced a stunning example of cinematic iPhone 14 Pro videography, complete with a tutorial video on how you could do the same. While Helms does use two add-ons, this is not your usual “technically shot on iPhone but using a complete film crew and tens of thousands of dollars worth of lighting and cinema kit” footage … Instead, as he reveals in a much-requested follow-up tutorial video, he mostly used only a gimbal and a low-cost variable neutral density filter....
30Cobra Kai season 2 is officially trying to move past The Karate Kid. The new characters definitely took center stage as those affected by the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. It’s those characters that largely hold the plot and move it forward. We also get to see those students come into their own and join either the Cobra Kai or Miyagi-Do dojo. However, Cobra Kai shows that there is no such thing as simply good or bad....

Director Danny Boyle says he’s done with franchise films after his experience making Bond 25. It was confirmed that Boyle would direct Bond 25 last spring and hopes were high among Bond fans who thought the Oscar-winning director might just elevate the flagging franchise to its former glory after the relatively middling effort that was 2015’s Spectre. Those hopes were dashed, however, when it was announced a few months later that Boyle had departed the production due to ‘creative differences’....
