Doctor Strange is just days away from being released for digital download and streaming, and a film as visually and thematically rich as Scott Derrickson’s stunner is sure to have a wealth of interesting special features. Doctor Strange’s mind-melting CGI effects are among the best of any Marvel Studios movie, and with Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as Doctor Stephen Strange in future installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the impressive visuals and philosophical undertones are likely to continue.

It’s already known that the Sorcerer Supreme will appear in a key role in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, which was revealed after Thor (Chris Hemsworth) made a surprise appearance in a mid-credits scene in Doctor Strange. Cumberbatch is also expected to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, which has been billed as a “culmination” of Phase 3 of the MCU. Infinity War may still be over a year away, but the upcoming Doctor Strange Blu-Ray promises fans a sneak peek at what to expect in the near future of the MCU.

As reported by Comic Book, the above video was posted to the site’s Youtube channel to promote the impending release of Doctor Strange. “We wanted to make a mind-trip action film,” says Derrickson in the 30-second clip, which shows glimpses at behind-the-scenes footage of the filming of some of Doctor Strange’s most visually striking scenes. The part that should excite fans of any MCU movie is the teasing of special features related to upcoming MCU Phase 3, including a very brief shot of Infinity War supervillain Thanos (Josh Brolin).

The promo announces features that will preview titles like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War. “Open the door to the future of Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 3,” says the voiceover in the promo, which also includes Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige’s comment on the “culmination” of the MCU to take place as Phase 3 unfolds leading up to Infinity War.

Knowing that Doctor Strange’s Blu-Ray will contain more previews of the next phase of the MCU, the film has to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Thor: Ragnarok, but it’s the potential of fresh looks at Thanos and anyone else involved in Avengers: Infinity War that will get most fans excited. The trove of extras that will come on the Doctor Strange Blu-Ray is sure to keep MCU fans busy for hours beyond the film itself.

Conspicuously absent from the promo as far as upcoming MCU titles is Spider-Man: Homecoming, a Sony Pictures collaboration, which comes out on July 7, before Thor: Ragnarok’s Nov. 3 release date. Fans who were hoping for special features that previewed Spider-Man’s newest installment may be disappointed in what Doctor Strange does or doesn’t offer on the Blu-Ray. But the prospect of new features that look at Infinity War and the rest of Phase 3 of the MCU should be enough to find the Doctor Strange Blu-Ray on many fans’ shelves in the coming weeks.

Doctor Strange releases in digital formats on February 14 and DVD and Blu-Ray on February 28th.
