Pop culture fans all over the world are counting down the days to the biggest convention in the entertainment industry: Comic-Con International in San Diego. Although the big panels and events are usually announced around two weeks before the convention kicks off, some of the biggest attractions have already been revealed, such as the premieres of Star Trek Beyond and Batman: The Killing Joke. However, one of many things fans look forward to the most are panels, mostly those of Warner Bros./DC Entertainment and Marvel Studios.
Last year, DC and 20th Century Fox took over the famous Hall H to present some of their most anticipated projects, such as Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Deadpool. Marvel Studios skipped SDCC in order to reveal all their secrets and goods at the D23 Expo, which had fans believing Marvel could skip again this year and give priority to Disney’s own event. Luckily, Marvel is making an appearance in Hall H at this year’s SDCC and will bring the Sorcerer Supreme.
Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson made the announcement with a not-so-subtle hint on his official Twitter account, showing that the streets of San Diego are getting ready to receive fans as well as the Sorcerer Supreme and his crew.

Derrickson also shared a throwback pic on set with Benedict Cumberbatch in full Stephen Strange costume and Chiwetel Ejiofor in his Baron Mordo attire. Attendees of Marvel’s panel are yet to be officially announced but it would be a safe bet to say that Cumberbatch and Ejiofor will join Derrickson on stage.

Marvel Studios usually takes Hall H to present multiple projects, like they did in 2014 with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. The studio is currently working on their Phase 3, which includes the sequel to James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, and the two parts of Avengers: Infinity War.
Production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is nearing completion, making it a possible choice to join the cast and crew of Doctor Strange — it’s also the next film on Marvel’s slate following Doctor Strange. The panel could also include casting news for solo movies like Black Panther and Captain Marvel, or an update on Infinity War. Possibilities are many and hopefully the studio will reveal more in the coming days.
Comic-Con International: San Diego will take place July 20-24.
