Bungie is preparing to release Destiny 2’s Season of the Worthy and players should prepare themselves for a lot of new content and the largest in-game threat yet: stopping The Almighty from destroying The Last City. Players will be tasked with bringing the Guardians of Light together as well as working with Rasputin to save the world. This new season will begin on March 10th.

There have been several announcements for new changes to Destiny 2 in the last several months. The most exciting of these changes is probably the introduction of the Trials of Osiris mode. This gameplay mode was originally introduced with the first Destiny game, but, after fans complained that there was little for PvP players to accomplish, Bungie has decided to reintroduce the mode for Destiny 2. Bungie has also decided to rework the concept of FOMO in Destiny 2. Many fans feel like they have to accomplish everything that new seasons have to offer or they will miss out on important things. Bungie has decided to ensure players can enjoy the aspects of the game they want and still manage to gain both experience and unique items.

Bungie released a new gameplay trailer that reveals all the major components of Season of the Worthy. Most of the new content will be centered around supporting Rasputin at new locations called Seraph Towers. Players will also be going to areas called Lost Sectors to clear out enemies. This will give them access to new unique gear to help on their journey. Additionally, the Trials of Osiris will have competitive challenges for players to engage in every weekend. The other large change though will be the updated season pass that includes brand new weapons and armor sets.

The storyline of Season of the Worthy is seemingly continuing right where the last season left off. After the Guardians of Light succeeded in their effort to free the Sundial from the Red Legion, everything seemed to be going well. Unfortunately, a Psion Flayer managed to set the ship, The Almighty, on a suicide collision course with The Last City. As reported in the trailer above, if a ship of that size hits the planet, it will cause untold destruction and thousands of casualties. In order to stop it, players will have to help power up Rasputin so that the Warmind can destroy the massive ship.

Destiny 2 updates are always exciting affairs that bring a plethora of new content for players to enjoy. Season of the Worthy seems like it will be one of the most interesting updates yet now that players have access to the Trials of Osiris. The storyline of this season will also be raising the stakes once again as players are fighting to save The Last City. Now players just have to bide their time until March 10th.
