It has only been a few years since Netflix and Marvel first announced their partnership, and in that time fans have been treated to TV shows for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. With Iron Fist premiering in just a couple of months and a Punisher spinoff already announced for 2017, it’s hard to believe that The Defenders will also be premiering next year.

This past summer’s San Diego Comic-Con revealed the first teaser for the series, but at New York Comic-Con in October the show received even more buzz when it was announced that Sigourney Weaver had signed on to play the villain. No stranger to the fantastical, Weaver has made a name for herself in genre fare over the years with her roles in the Alien franchise, Ghostbusters, and Avatar. Speculation has already begun about which comic character Weaver will portray, but the actor is remaining quiet on the subject.

Still, during a recent interview with Variety, the subject was brought up. And while Weaver didn’t reveal a name, she did manage to offer up a short description:

“I can’t say much, because they might kill me. I think everyone I work for might kill me if I tell you anything. But I have the most delicious character. She’s really smart, and she’s very in charge.”

It is no surprise that Weaver is toeing the Marvel line about how they’ll kill anyone who spoils one of their projects, but with filming not yet wrapped, it was unlikely the actor would leak concrete details. Given her talents, it’s also easy to assume that a smart and in-charge character was crafted for her. Still, it’s heartening to hear that she finds the character to be “delicious,” which bodes well for her rendition.

With Charlie Cox’s recent comments that any hero was fair game for death in the Netflix universe, Weaver’s character is likely to be quite the threat. Hopefully, she’s brought some friends, as just about every hero and sidekick from the streets of New York is currently slated to appear during the series’ 8-episode run. Stick, Claire, and Trish were all announced last month, and since then there has been word that Colleen Wing and Elektra will also join the cast. Thanks to set photos, the return of Misty Knight has also been confirmed, so the heroes seem to have the advantage so far. If Cox gets his wish, though, Bullseye might be lending Weaver a helping hand.

Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, Jessica Jones season 1, and Luke Cage season 1 are now available on Netflix. Iron Fist will premiere on March 17, 2017. The Defenders and The Punisher will arrive in 2017. Premiere dates for the newest seasons of Jessica Jones and Daredevil  have not yet been announced.
