More Deadpool, more Weasel, MORE COLOSSUS. Enjoy. Thanx @deadpoolextra #deadpoolmovie pic.twitter.com/z3DVHtX8sN— Stefan Kapičić (@StefanKapicic) February 2, 2016

It has indeed been a long time coming, but fans of 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool movie are finally in the home stretch. With barely over a week to go before Ryan Reynolds treats audiences to his portrayal of Wade Wilson (at the time of writing this), excitement levels are high – and for good reason.

Fox has done a brilliant job of marketing both the movie and the character of Deadpool thus far, resulting in a general sort of familiarity with The Merc With A Mouth, regardless of one’s understanding of Marvel comic books or previous – albeit brief – incarnations of Wade Wilson within the X-Men cinematic universe.

Despite the short amount of time remaining until Deadpool’s theatrical release, Fox isn’t finished with any of us yet. More visual loot has appeared both online and on TV, giving us all another taste of what’s to come.

Two new international TV spots have arrived – one of which was presented to followers of Stefan Kapicic (aka Colossus) via his Twitter account. That particular tweet was crowned with the words “More Deadpool, more Weasel, MORE COLOSSUS. Enjoy.” The spot does what Deadpool seems to do best, mixing humour – courtesy of Weasel (T.J. Miller) – with fast paced, hard hitting violence in a somewhat extended look at what is surely going to be a fun battle between Deadpool and Colossus.

The second Deadpool TV spot (see above) features more carnage and amped up battles, with a little of both adversary Ajax (Ed Skrein) and Deadpool’s love interest, Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin), thrown in for good measure.

And if for some reason you’re still not sure who exactly who’s who in Deadpool’s crazy, hilarious world, a new breakdown of some of the movie’s characters has been put together (courtesy of 20th Century Fox) just to keep you on top of things in the lead up to February 12th. Included here are details on: Deadpool, Vanessa Carlysle, Ajax, Angel Dust (Gina Carano), Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand).

By this point, fans have been given as full of an introduction to Deadpool as can be expected without seeing the movie. All too often, studios tend to give away the best bits of an upcoming film via trailers and TV spots. Although Deadpool has had one of the grandest marketing campaigns to date, there still feels as if there’s a whole lot left to see and be thrilled by when the movie arrives in theatres. If this does end up being the case, count on longtime and new fans leaving the theater very happy indeed.

Deadpool opens in theaters on February 12, 2016, followed by X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016; Gambit sometime in 2017; Wolverine 3 on March 3, 2017; and an untitled X-Men film on July 13, 2018. The New Mutants is also currently in development.
