UPDATE: Daredevil season 3 is now available on Netflix!
Daredevil season 3 will arrive on Netflix this Friday, October 19th, but what time can you expect episodes to appear? All thirteen episodes of season 3 will be dropped on Netflix at once, and you can bet Marvel fans will want to start bingeing as soon as possible.
In Daredevil season 3, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is back as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. While season 1 established Murdock’s alias and introduced Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) as Kingpin, Daredevil season 2 became even darker, with the introduction of the troubled Elektra and Daredevil’s nemesis, The Hand. Season 2 led into The Defenders, giving us a shock ending which seemed to bring about the final end for Elektra, and the death of Daredevil, too. Of course, he’s not actually dead: Daredevil season 3 will adapt elements from the Born Again comic book arc, when a nun named Maggie saves his life. Fisk will also make his return, along with Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). New characters set to be introduced include Jay Ali as Rahul ‘Ray’ Nadeem, and Wilson Bethel as Benjamin ‘Dex’ Poindexter, also known as the villain Bullseye.
Daredevil season 3 is set to be one of the highlights in Netflix’s 2018 schedule, with fans across the globe eager to get their hands on the new episodes. Depending on where in the world you live, though, you may have to watch through the night, or set you alarm super early if you want to be among the first viewers. Daredevil season 3 will officially release at midnight PST/3am EST/8am BST on October 19.
Daredevil season 1 earned itself - quite rightly - strong critical acclaim. Season 2 earned slightly less favorable reviews, with the 13 episode arc dragging in places, but early reviews for Daredevil season 3 seem to suggest that, despite a slow start, the show is back to its previously strong form. This is no doubt helped by the return of D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and the arrival of Bullseye; Kingpin’s waging a personal vendetta against Daredevil, attempting to ruin the vigilante’s reputation by getting Bullseye to carry out horrific crimes in a similar costume.
While Karen and Foggy will return, don’t expect any appearances from other Netflix Marvel characters. Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) is taking a break from superhero life and New York, while Frank Castle is busy being The Punisher. And, with two big villains to fit into Daredevil season 3, it would be hard to squeeze in a troubled vigilante too.
