Daredevil star Charlie Cox shows off the uncanny resemblance of a new Daredevil collectible figurine in an Instagram selfie. Cox, despite thinking that he was too old to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is gearing up to film the third season of Daredevil - with filming reportedly starting this month. Season 3 will presumably tie into both The Defenders and The Punisher, as the Netflix MCU continues to grow and to bring its various standalone shows closer together.

In the meantime though, Cox has been having some fun with his starring role on the small screen, and talking about his hopes that season 3 will see Matt Murdock becoming a little more vulnerable - and that Matt’s relationship with Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) might actually work. Cox has also been having some fun with the collectibles modeled on himself, including a social media post of himself with one of his latest toys.

Cox posted a selfie on SideShow Collectible’s Instagram with the new figurine of the Daredevil character. The image shows off the resemblance between Cox’s own angry grimace and the one on the new figure - which is painstakingly rendered to be almost identical.

The new product from SideShow is a sixth-scale figure, featuring the likeness of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in his suit, and includes “a newly developed head sculpt with 2 interchangeable facial expressions, a meticulously tailored Daredevil suit, the Billy Club in extended and nunchaku modes, and a specially designed figure stand with character backdrop,” according to the description (see it on Sideshow’s website - HERE).

Sideshow is known for selling incredibly beautiful and detailed replicas of characters from TV and film, and previous collections include a Star Wars figurine that made its debut at SDCC earlier this year. A Punisher sixth-scale figure is also available in the same collection, and it is highly likely that more Defenders figures will join the collection soon.

While it’s amazing to see just how perfectly the head sculpt matches the actor’s real life features, Hot Toys collectibles do not come cheap. The Daredevil figurine sells for around $230 (with the Punisher figure costing a little more than that), so these are definitely collectibles for the serious fans - or for actors who get a freebie when they post a selfie of themselves with their own figurine!
