The Keanu Reeves appearance during the Cyberpunk 2077 event at E3 2019 was one of the most memorable moments in the history of the conference and the fans want his famous “you’re breathtaking” quote to be added to the game as the name of an achievement.

The Microsoft conference at E3 2019 featured appearances from several third-party developers, which included a segment by CD Projekt Red that discussed the highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. The trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 revealed that Keanu Reeves had lent his likeness and voice to the game in the form of a character called Johnny Silverhand. Reeves made a surprise appearance during the event, which led to an outpouring of adoration and love from the fans. At one point during his speech, Reeves mentioned that the feeling of walking the streets of the future was going to be breathtaking, which prompted a fan to shout out that he was breathtaking as well, and for Reeves to return the compliment in kind.

The mutual love between Reeves and a fan was seen as one of the highlights of E3 2019 and a simple complimentary moment has upstaged all of the video game announcements, to the point where CD Projekt Red has rewarded the fan with a free Collector’s Edition copy of Cyberpunk 2077. The moment has achieved such a legendary status that fans want it to be added to Cyberpunk 2077 as the name of an achievement. There is currently a petition on Change.org that is asking CD Projekt Red to add “You’re Breathtaking” as the name of the 100% completion achievement award for Cyberpunk 2077. The petition currently has over twenty-seven thousand signatures, with the aim of hitting thirty-five thousand.

The popularity of Reeves has grown steadily in recent years thanks to the success of the John Wick movie series, but there are many real-life examples of Reeves helping out his fans that have added to his reputation of being a genuinely nice guy. The fact that Reeves looked so stunned when receiving such a positive reaction from the E3 2019 crowd has only made him more endearing. The presence of Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077 has been a huge promotional boon for CD Projekt Red and it would be surprising if they didn’t reference the famous E3 moment in the game.

There have been many video game related petitions on Change.org and the vast majority of them have been ignored by developers in the past. This isn’t even the only petition regarding Keanu Reeves that has been made this week, as there is already one asking for him to be declared Time magazine’s Person of the Year. Reeves’ appearance at E3 2019 is already being considered as one of the most memorable moments to ever occur in the history of the conference, so it’s possible that CD Projekt Red would want to reference it in the game. Changing the name of an achievement seems like an easy thing to do and it wouldn’t be the first time that a video game has referenced a famous E3 moment, as Super Smash Bros. for 3DS referenced Reggie Fils-Aimé’s famous “My Body is Ready” quote when the player unlocked every custom outfit.
