Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson is further explaining the mysterious Avengers: Endgame set photos of her that surfaced after the movie’s release. Captain Marvel introduced fans to Larson’s Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel with an entertaining ’90s-set story. The character then played a role in the final film in the MCU’s Infinity Saga, Avengers: Endgame. However, though Endgame came out a month after Captain Marvel, the movies were actually shot in reverse order. This led to some character inconsistencies in Avengers: Endgame, such as with Carol’s hair and makeup.

Fans were further confused when set photos surfaced of Larson on the movie’s Vormir set. In the finished Avengers: Endgame film, Carol doesn’t play a role in retrieving the Soul Stone, which is located on Vormir. This led many to believe the photos were from a deleted or altered scene. At the time, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explained that they “had the first full costume fitting with Brie Larson on the set of Avengers: Endgame.” This proved that the location of the photos wasn’t actually relevant and instead happened to be where they were working that day.

Now, Larson shares what that camera test on the Vormir set entailed, via a post on Instagram. Though fans have seen the photos before, the caption is the most interesting aspect of her post. In it, she explains that it was her first time in the complete Captain Marvel outfit and that she was still learning how to move in “a leather wetsuit.” Larson also referenced another key aspect of her test: figuring out Captain Marvel’s “signature moves.” Check out Larson’s post below:

With two MCU appearances under her belt, fans are already looking ahead to Larson’s next movie as Carol Danvers: Captain Marvel 2. In January, Marvel officially declared the sequel was in development, with a possible 2022 release date. However, despite Larson’s return, the movie will be missing two key parties; original co-directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck won’t return, and no new director for Captain Marvel 2 has been named. They’re far from the first MCU directors not to return for a sequel, as Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson recently parted ways with Marvel on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

As it will likely be a long time before fans see Larson suit up as Captain Marvel again, it’s fun to hear her perspective on her very first camera test. The first time an actress sees herself in full superhero gear is a big moment, one that many talk about for years to come. As one of the newest members of the MCU, there’s a chance Larson will be playing Carol Danvers in several more movies. This makes her first time in the full Captain Marvel outfit all the more special for both fans and Larson herself.
