Ever since the soundtrack for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace revealed that Qui-Gon Jinn would be the first Jedi to die in the prequels, major movie tracks have been scoured for possible film spoilers or, at the very least, launch points for fan theories. With that in mind, studios have tightened up on names and details behind major soundtracks thus far – but, if you look deep enough, you might find some story hints in the new track list for Captain America: Civil War.

Today, via Han Zimmer’s official website, the full track list (including one bonus track) was released to the public. With track titles like ‘New Recruit’ and ‘Cap’s Promise,’ the keen-eyed fan might be able to plot out some of the movie’s major beats – but the list also does great work of leaving those assumptions behind a wall of mystery.

Composed by Henry Jackman (The 5th Wave, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) with additional help from Halli Cauthery (Iron Man 3) and Alex Belcher (Kingsman: The Secret Service), the soundtrack is conducted by Gavin Greenway and features a total of 21 tracks, and runs about 70 minutes long. Jackman is no stranger to superhero films, and told THR last year that the soundtrack runs closely to the vein of his work in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

While most of the tracks have titles that resonate with your standard superhero film fare, stand-out titles like ‘Ancestral Call’ and ‘Celestial Bodies’ hint at something more than just an earthly war; along with what may be the introduction of Black Panther, Civil War could continue to plant the seeds of Marvel’s cosmic universe on-screen, with hints at otherworldly magic and legend leading into Doctor Strange. Fans are already guessing that ‘New Recruit’ hints at Spider-Man’s introduction, and if this is true, it’s likely that savvy fans might pick up overtures or elements of his official theme in the film ahead of his standalone debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Other tracks hint at things fans already know about the film – the introduction of the villain, Baron Zemo, the ‘Civil War’ itself, and perhaps, with ‘Making Amends,’ some sort of resolution that strengthens the Avengers before the events of Infinity War.

Captain America: Civil War will release on May 6, 2016, followed by Doctor Strange– November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming – July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1– May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel – March 8, 2019; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 – May 3, 2019; and as-yet untitled Marvel movies on May 1, July 10 and November 6, 2020. Inhumans currently has no release date.
