Captain America: Civil War won’t be released until May of next year, but Disney’s partner brands are already preparing for the next big Marvel release. One of the most important brands related to Disney products is LEGO, which hasn’t let us down with multiple play sets from many Marvel movies.
Civil War has the biggest superhero ensemble we have seen so far, bringing together members of the original Avengers team (minus Thor and Bruce Banner/Hulk) and the New Avengers, plus new heroes like Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland). With this in mind, it’s fair to say the LEGO play sets from Civil War will have as many mini-figures of superheroes as they can - and although we already know these characters pretty well, one of these sets may have revealed an important detail about a certain character.

Even though we already know he is part of the cast, the potential spoiler is in the fact that the figure on the picture is not Scott Lang in human size nor ant size: it’s actually Giant Man.

Among the many rumours surrounding the third Captain America movie is that of Scott Lang not only shrinking to the size of an ant but also altering his size to gigantic proportions. At some point in the comic books, the original Ant-Man (Hank Pym) adopted the alias of “Giant Man” as he was also able to go full giant. This could be one of the upgrades the MCU version of Ant-Man is getting for his next big screen appearance.
Marvel hasn’t commented on this but it is not the first time LEGO reveals a bit too much on its play sets – though they have mislead us a few times, they have also been right in the past. Ant-Man being able to go on Giant Man mode is not a plot point per se, meaning there’s a fair chance that LEGO is not misleading us this time; they usually do so when it comes to critical moments of the story (like when they led fans to believe the Mandarin was going to battle Iron Man in a tank at some point in Iron Man 3).
Captain America: Civil War will release on May 6, 2016, followed by Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man – July 28, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel – March 8, 2019; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 – May 3, 2019; Inhumans – July 12, 2019; and as-yet untitled Marvel movies on May 1, July 10 and November 6, 2020.
