Now that 2015 is coming to a close, it’s good to look forward at the next year’s slate of new movies. One of the most anticipated movies of 2016 is certainly Captain America: Civil War. The third movie in the Captain America film series will pit superhero against superhero over a newly-established registration act, as the governments of the world look to oversee and better regulate the actions of superheroes and super-powered individuals alike.

Some superheroes are in favor of registration, like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and - seemingly - Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), while some are against it - including, Captain America (Chris Evans), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). While Marvel dropped the first trailer for Civil War some time back, new concept art has emerged, further teasing the film’s massive superhero throw-down.

Thanks to Total Film (via CBM), we’ve now gotten a better look at the superheroes featured in Captain America: Civil War. For some it’s going to be weird watching the characters we grew to love over the years turn against each other, but some things are worth fighting for. Artists Andy Park & Ryan Meinerding created the concept art below and it looks amazing.

Let’s take a closer look at the battles. Starting from the left, we see Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) using her force-field powers against Vision (Paul Bettany) - all the more interesting, seeing as the pair become a couple in the Marvel comic books. We also see Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) go up against Black Widow - who, it seems, takes Tony Stark’s side on the superhero registration issue because she’s trying to piece her life back together after the events of Avengers: Age of Ulton. Meanwhile in the background, we can see Hawkeye looking for a fight, too.

On the right side of this image, we see reformed Winter Soldier fighting Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), who will be properly introduced in Civil War. The story needed an outsider without any close ties, so Black Panther fit the bill. We can also see War Machine battle Falcon, which is fitting since they’re the closest to Iron Man and Captain America, respectively. And, of course, in the center of it all will have Captain America going one-on-one with Iron Man.

This concept art is pretty solid, all things considered. It’s the type of comic book art that you’d want to frame and display on one of your walls. Every piece of new information about Civil War, like concept art and trailers, gives fans a lot of hope that Phase Three will start off with a real game changer. It’s not often that we’ll see an Avengers-style movie where superheroes fight other superheroes, so Civil War seems like it will change everything we know about the MCU.
