Captain America: Civil War has just been retold via a cheeky LEGO short film. Since premiering early last summer, the formerly mentioned Marvel Cinematic Universe feature served to start the ongoing Phase 3 slate of films from Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures - which has since been followed by the box office successes that are Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Effectively getting the ball rolling on a tension-fueled note, Captain America 3 saw returning franchise co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo starting the latest slate of MCU releases off with a bang.

As things continue to develop behind the scenes of the forthcoming Phase 3 releases in 2018 that are Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War - in addition to the theatrical releases of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok still due out in 2017 - MCU fans have the events previously depicted in Captain America: Civil War to thank. The Russo brothers definitely delivered quite the motion picture production with their last feature length effort - a monument to the superhero movie genre, moreover, that has just been immortalized in LEGO form.

In the footage featured above, fans of the Russo brothers’ Phase 3 MCU feature can take a look at what Captain America: Civil War would look like as presented by a child playing with his own franchise tie-in LEGO play set. Serving as part of the ongoing As Told by LEGO video series produced by Disney - itself a spinoff of the As Told by Emoji series - the latest three-minute long installment offers a charming way to take in the feature length studio production.

Featuring plenty of the film’s most memorable moments - most notably including Iron Man’s show-stopping confrontation with the Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, and Captain America - those who enjoyed seeing Captain America: Civil War in theaters last year will likely enjoy its LEGO treatment. With any luck, more likeminded productions may be in the immediate future - begging the question of what the team behind the As Told by LEGO series would do in remaking Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the same style.

Stop-motion animation has long been an enjoyable form of popular entertainment, and when you add the LEGO brand and Captain America: Civil War into the mix the results are impressive, to say the very least. Compared to the far more grandiose and dramatic telling offered by Marvel Studios, the LEGO short featured above is a compelling caricature of the MCU feature proper.
