Ahead of the character’s debut in Injustice 2 next month, a new trailer shows off Black Manta and his moves in the game. While most people may have a passing familiarity with Aquaman, his Rogues Gallery is a bit more obscure. However, for anyone who grew up watching Super Friends, the name and visage of Black Manta will be familiar. For everyone else, next year’s Aquaman will finally translate the King of Atlantis’ long-time foe into live-action - and while we don’t yet know how he will look in the DC Extended Universe, he looks to be but one of multiple villains in the Aquaman movie.

Before the film, however, fans will get a chance to not only see a new iteration of Black Manta, but also pit the underwater villain against the best and baddest characters from DC Comics. Thanks to the release of Injustice 2 earlier this summer, the story from one of the most popular games in recent memory has continued. With it, players have been able to interact with new takes on classic heroes and villains along with a variety of newcomers. Next month, a DLC will be released for Injustice 2 that will add Hellboy, Raiden, and Black Manta to the mix. Now, we have our first look at the latter in action.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has debuted a new gameplay trailer for Black Manta’s character in Injustice 2. Along with Hellboy and Raiden, Black Manta will be part of the Fighter Pack 2 DLC that will drop on September 12 - and thanks to the video above, we now have a better idea of what Black Manta in particular will bring to the game.

In the trailer, we get to see the full range of Black Manta’s moves. He mostly stick to knives for his melee attacks, but he has a surprisingly large arsenal to choose from. There are rockets, a variety of other explosives, and a harpoon gun that may double to prevent the opponent from switching out. He also utilizes his eye beams and gets a lot of mileage from his jetpack. Likely, the device will work both defensively and offensively. We can also see him employing a water cannon and even dipping into the ground for an attack. Finally, the video shows off his Super Move, which incorporates almost all of the villain’s gear.

Black Manta, Raiden, and Hellboy are just the latest additions to Injustice 2. Last month, a DLC was released featuring new characters like Red Hood and Sub-Zero. Hopefully, plenty more characters will be released, both from DC Comics and other franchises. When they do, they’re likely to show up in October for the live Injustice 2 eSports tournament.
