Beyoncé speaks as Nala in the latest TV spot from Disney’s The Lion King remake. The Mouse House’s practice of remaking its own animated classics in live-action/CGI has picked up of late, following the success of movies like The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast. Disney has already released two such films this year (Dumbo and Aladdin), with The Lion King retelling set to follow in July. And much like the re-imaginings before it (sans Dumbo), The Lion King is projected to be a big success at the box office....

Sometimes, the oddest stories manage to take over the internet, giving birth to countless memes, tributes, and petitions. One such tale is that of Harambe, a 17-year-old Western lowland silverback gorilla who was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo back in May of this year. Haramabe’s untimely death occurred after a 4-year-old fell into his enclosure, and the ape began dragging the boy around. Fearing for the child’s safety, zoo staff felt they had no choice but to employ lethal force to put an end to things....

The Power Rangers are about to make a comeback in a big way. Director Zack Snyder’s decision to cast Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was certainly one of the most controversial superhero movie casting decisions made in recent memory. However, Affleck’s performance as a middle-aged (and respectively hardened) Bruce Wayne wound up being one of the more universally-praised elements of Snyder’s film, inspiring many fans to call for a Ben Affleck-starring Batman solo movie to be fast-tracked - which, it would seem, it has been (with Affleck co-writing and directing the film too)....

Netflix’s Bird Box stars Sandra Bullock as Malorie, a woman fighting for survival after mysterious entities appear all over the world, inducing suicide in anyone who catches sight of them. While Bullock’s character is the focus of the film, however, Bird Box also has a rich supporting cast filled with familiar faces, including John Malkovich, Trevante Rhodes, Sarah Paulson, and Tom Hollander. Given that the trailer for Bird Box primarily focused on Malorie and her two children, and avoided giving away too much about the movie’s plot, some of the actors who appear are a total surprise....

The butterfly keyboard lawsuit has been resolved after a judge approved Apple’s proposed payouts to owners of MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models with the faulty keyboard design. Owners whose machines required repair are set to receive compensation that ranges from $50 to $395, depending on the extent of the work needed.
