Netflix’s Chilling Adventure of Sabrina has cast former Disney star Ross Lynch as Sabrina’s love interest Harvey Kinkle. The upcoming series is more of an adaptation of the comics by the same name written by Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa with art by Robert Hack than a remake of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the show that aired on ABC in the late 1990s. And like Riverdale, which has taken the classic Archie comics to the next level, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is sure to be darker than the original....

The star of Apple TV+’s Defending Jacob series shared a heartfelt farewell to his Home button iPhone from 2015 on Twitter. “RIP iPhone 6s,” wrote Evans. “We had a good run. Comcast is reportedly preparing to formalize its unsolicited bid to purchase the bulk of 21st Century Fox’s film and TV assets, a direct clash with rival Disney. The announcement will be expected on Wednesday, assuming U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon approves the AT&T / Time Warner deal. Last year, companies across the United States were surprised when the Department of Justice decided to intervene in the AT&T / Time Warner deal....

The inclusion of Cyborg among the ranks of the Doom Patrol in the upcoming DC Universe TV series represents a serious risk for both the new show and the streaming service. The beloved hero is best known to the public as a member of the Teen Titans, and all the efforts to move him outside of the scope of that series have been mixed in their success. Created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Perez, Cyborg was originally a child prodigy and star athlete named Victor Stone....

The writing team was already working towards their next season, and it’s clear that they had a lot of plans for moving forward. All those plans will never be seen, though, and all of the questions fans had about the series will never be answered....

Dark Phoenix writer and director Simon Kinberg has revealed that the next X-Men film is partly inspired by the “Secret Invasion” event in the comics. It’s just the latest comment to support longstanding rumors that the movie will see the X-Men encounter Fox’s version of the shapeshifting aliens known as the Skrulls. The film rights to the Skrulls are essentially shared between Fox and Marvel, largely because they’re tied to both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four franchises....

Darksiders 3’s Keepers of the Void DLC adds some new puzzle gameplay to the action of the core game, but doesn’t quite leave a lasting impression. Although it tried awfully hard, Darksiders 3 didn’t quite leave the impression of the first two games in the series. Darksiders 3 is still a fun action adventure romp, but it wasn’t really the follow-up that fans had been waiting for. Since the launch of Darksiders 3 last year, Gunfire Games has turned to DLC to try and build upon the core game to improve its stature and add a bit of variety, and the latest attempt to do this is Keepers of the Void....

Rebel Wilson has revealed the official title and release date for MGM’s Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake co-starring Anne Hathaway. Wilson originally jumped aboard the project in August 2016, with Hathaway joining her in January 2017. The actresses reportedly play con artists from differing social backgrounds who team up to swindle a naive tech genius. Chris Addison (Veep) directs from a script by Jac Schaeffer (Black Widow). Released in 1988, the original Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starred Michael Caine and Steve Martin as the titular grifting duo....

Disney confirms the full cast for The Lion King live-action remake. Walt Disney Pictures has found a great deal of success in recent years with live-action updates of staples from their animated classics collection. Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella and Bill Condon’s Beauty and the Beast both stuck closely to their respective animated films - which are themselves adaptations of well known fairy tales - with minor updates for modern audiences and, of course, live-action imagery....

Blade Runner 2, as the followup to Ridley Scott’s touchstone 1982 futuristic Noir drama/thriller is currently known, has been a long time in coming, but will finally enter production during the summer of 2016. By comparison, the John Wick followup - a sequel now officially titled John Wick: Chapter Two - was much quicker to start filming, after its predecessor hit theaters in 2014. The latter also gave rise to a character (the movie’s namesake, played by Keanu Reeves) who has already become the basis for a multi-platform property that already includes both movies and video games alike....

Blade Runner is returning to the big screen in 2017, with Ridley Scott having handed off the job of directing to Denis Villeneuve: a filmmaker who has quickly risen in the ranks of respected cinematic storytellers that are currently active, after his work on such films as Prisoners and Sicario. Harrison Ford is returning for the next Blade Runner installment (once again raising questions about the true nature of his character Rick Deckard in the process), and he will be joined by a cast that includes Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, MacKenzie Davis, Jared Leto and many other noteworthy actors in supporting roles....

The film’s cast includes big names like John Goodman and Vera Farmiga, as well as Moonlight and The Equalizer 2 actor Ashton Sanders....

The HomeKit ecosystem is losing one of its most useful and most reliable accessories. Chamberlain has announced today that it is discontinuing the myQ Home Bridge Hub, which allowed you to control your garage door with HomeKit and Siri. For those unfamiliar, myQ is Chamberlain’s platform for controlling your garage door using your smartphone. The technology is built into some of Chamberlain’s more modern garage door openers, but the company also sells a retrofit version that adds the technology to older garage door openers....

Conan the Barbarian’s reintroduction into the Marvel Universe is starting off with a bang, as the Cimmerian warrior is headed for a team-up with The Avengers. Conan will meet Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the upcoming crossover event, Avengers: No Road Home. Created in 1932 as the star of a series of fantasy novels, Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian is several years older than all characters owned by Marvel, including Captain America and Namor the Sub-Mariner....

In the wake of today’s earlier announcement that DC Comics’ new streaming service will be titled DC Universe, it was also announced that filming on Metropolis - a series set in the titular city from the Superman comic books - has been delayed. The series had been scheduled for a 2019 release but is now planned to undergo redevelopment. The original plan for Metropolis was that, much like the Syfy series Krypton, it would examine an iconic setting from the classic Superman comics in the days before Superman’s existence....

It could be a year or more until Disney’s acquisition of Fox is finalized, but the deal is already having an impact on Fox operations. While Marvel fans may be delighted by the prospect of finally seeing The Avengers team up with the X-Men and/or the Fantastic Four on the big screen, the real-world implications of the buyout aren’t exactly light-hearted fun. Fox is expected to be significantly downsized, and between the two studios there are thousands of job losses expected....

A new report revealed racial diversity among directors hit a five-year low in 2017, while female director numbers increased. The call for more diversity has increased in recent years, with movie fans wanting to see more people of color and white women in significant creative roles like director, producer and writer. While there may be more high-profile films directed by non-white men - like Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman - 2017 actually saw Hollywood hit a five-year low in terms of diversity among movie directors....
