Eliza Dushku has finally spoken out about the sexual harassment she encountered on the set of CBS’ Bull. Last week, it was announced that Dushku was awarded $9.5 million from CBS in response to her claims of being harassed and then unjustly fired. Dushku, known for her roles in Bring it On and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, filed a complaint with the number one broadcast network after several instances of sexual harassment on the set of Bull by the star of the show, Michael Weatherly....

The classic 1952 Western High Noon, which starred Gary Cooper as a sheriff standing alone against a group of gunmen, is getting a remake. Produced by Stanley Kramer and directed by Fred Zinnemann, High Noon garnered seven Academy Award nominations including Best Picture. The movie would lose out to Cecil B. DeMille’s The Greatest Show On Earth in the Best Picture race (a result many still consider a travesty), but would ultimately take home four awards including Best Actor for Cooper....

Hillary Rodham Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, will star in a new docuseries called Gutsy on Apple TV+. Debuting September 9, it will be an eight-part documentary series celebrating inspirational women. Gutsy is based on the Clintons’ New York Times best-selling book, The Book of Gutsy Women. Within the docuseries, both Hillary and Chelsea will interview pioneering women who prove what it means to be “gutsy.” Many are women artists, activists, community leaders, as well as everyday heroes....

Director Danny Boyle reveals that his 2000 film The Beach will be adapted for television. The English filmmaker discussed the upcoming prequel series while promoting his new film Yesterday, a musical fantasy in which a man realizes that he’s the only person who remembers The Beatles. In The Beach, Leonardo DiCaprio stars as an American traveler named Richard. He learns the location of a secret island in the Gulf of Thailand, and invites a French couple to join him for an adventure....

Last April, word got out that a live-action American version of the manga and anime series Death Note was being planned at Warner Bros., with Adam Wingard directing from a script written by Jeremy Slater. Casting began on the project, and all indications pointed to filming beginning this year for a likely 2017 release. Unfortunately, the Death Note adaptation seems to be one of the casualties of Warner Bros.’ rumored desire to cut back on non-franchise releases, so it can focus on its franchise properties....

The first images for The Death of Superman arrive online, giving us a sneak peek of the upcoming Warner Bros. animated project that is expected to be released later this year. One of the most iconic Superman narratives in print, 1992’s The Death of Superman tackles the fatal battle between the Man of Steel and Doomsday resulting in both of their deaths. The storyline became a massive event both in and outside of comics as the world grappled with the notion that Superman is gone, causing a spike in interest and sales in Superman-centric titles....

Developers reacted with astonishment and anger at Apple’s 27% commission policy as a minimal form of compliance with a new antitrust law regarding the App Store. One leading developer described the move as ‘vile,’ while another said Apple is deliberately ensuring it would cost developers more to opt-out of Apple’s payment system than it would to remain within it … Background Dutch regulators, like those in South Korea, ordered that Apple allow developers to opt-out of the App Store payment platform....

Last month, DirecTV Stream announced that all users — including those grandfathered into legacy plans — would see a price increase starting in January. As the price increase takes effect, the company does have a bit of good news, announcing today that all DirecTV Stream plans now included unlimited cloud DVR… As first reported by The Streamable, DirecTV Stream previously included 20 hours of DVR storage in all plans, with an option to upgrade to the Unlimited DVR option for $10 per month....

Hidden Figures screenwriter Allison Schroeder has been recruited to cowrite Disney’s Frozen 2 with Jennifer Lee (who is further co-directing the film alongside Chris Buck). In addition to her Oscar-nominated screenwriting efforts on the aforementioned historical NASA memoir, Schroeder recently cowrote the Mouse House’s live-action film Christopher Robin (which opened in theaters earlier this month). Disney finally confirmed that it was making a Frozen sequel in March 2015, more than a year after its original animated fairy tale musical became an Oscar-winning smash hit that grossed close to $1....

Deadpool’s massive success is prompting studios everywhere to rethink concepts for superhero movies that they previously believed to be risky. Already, plans for films like Lobo are moving forward, while other in-universe spin-offs at 20th Century Fox, such as New Mutants, are currently in the works. Ryan Reynolds is set to return as Deadpool in a now-confirmed sequel, but when it comes to which characters are returning and which are being introduced to the universe, news has been pretty quiet....

Bethesda-owned ZeniMax and Facebook reached a settlement over litigation involving VR; the settlement comes after ZeniMax filed a lawsuit in 2017 against Facebook for using its code with the company’s Oculus VR headset. Here’s some background on the case: former Oculus CEO Palmer Luckey and current Oculus CTO John Carmack signed an NDA to work on VR headset prototypes for ZeniMax. They eventually left their agreements with the company, owned by Bethesda, to work with Facebook on the Oculus headset....

Beyond Good & Evil 2 game director Michel Ancel has given fans a potential date for the game’s long-awaited beta. The title is one of the biggest examples of development limbo around, with the game being officially confirmed by Ancel back in 2008 but without anything concrete materializing until a stunning reveal at E3 2017. One year on, and Ubisoft’s E3 press conference once again proved to be the place to find out more about this tantalizing game....

BlacKkKlansman, the latest effort from director Spike Lee, is projected to earn one of his highest openings at the box office this weekend. Over the course of his prolific career, the filmmaker has earned much critical praise and a loyal fan base, but major commercial success has largely alluded him. His most financially successful movie is the 2006 heist thriller Inside Man, which earned $88.5 million during its theatrical run. No other work of Lee’s has come close to that number, and his last few have barely made a blip on the radar....

Director Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sequel to Sir Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic Blade Runner is beginning to gather pace, in what’s been a particularly long and drawn-out development process. Blade Runner 2 (as the film is unofficially titled) has enlisted the services of original Blade Runner lead Harrison Ford (returning as Rick Deckard), as well as franchise newcomers Robin Wright, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, and Dave Bautista in key roles that have yet to be revealed....

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk takes the cover of the latest issue of Total Film magazine, along with a special celebration of the director’s filmography so far. The Batman Begins helmer shot to fame with his Dark Knight trilogy, before going on to work on huge hits Inception and Interstellar, and it looks like he is set for another success this year with Dunkirk. The upcoming film is a re-telling of the famous battle of World War II, and will star Tom Hardy, Harry Styles and James D’Arcy among others....

Season three of Daredevil might not have drawn in as many viewers as previous seasons, but the show left critics impressed. For its third installment, the show was ready to shake things up with a brand new showrunner. Erik Oleson, former showrunner for The CW’s Arrow, was eager to push the series in a new direction. He explained in an interview that he wanted Daredevil to reflect his views on the current political climate and explore how fear affects us....
