Star Wars: The Force Awakens kicked off the sequel trilogy in the Skywalker family saga last year, introducing fans to a new generation of heroes and villains. At the forefront of the film was Rey, a young scavenger living in isolation on the desert planet Jakku. Though the character was the main protagonist of Episode VII, the movie revealed very little about her backstory. The now-famous “Forceback” sequence showed that Rey has been on her own since she was a child, but the reasoning for this is unknown....

When Darksiders 3 tasked players with hunting down the Seven Deadly Sins, gamers may have gained an idea of what to expect. A rage-filled battle against Wrath was on most players’ wish list, and no doubt there may have been expectations that the boss fight with Lust would have something seductive about it. Although Darksiders 3 does break some conventions with lust - the general theme is that it could be a lust for power over the more obvious options - nonetheless the Sin attempts to woo Fury with her deepest desires....

A Disney casting call appears to suggest Marvel is looking to cast the character of Kamala Khan. According to the casting call, Marvel intends the hero to star in a standalone Ms. Marvel film, to begin production next year. Marvel visionary Kevin Feige recently revealed that the studio has plans for the character of Kamala Khan, aka. Ms. Marvel. “Ms. Marvel is definitely in the works,” he revealed, to the delight of the young hero’s many fans....

The long-running Cambridge Analytica lawsuit against Facebook parent company Meta has finally been settled. The social media company agreed to pay Facebook users a combined total of $725M for sharing their personal data with the now-bankrupt political consultancy. Though it certainly seems like every project that is related to comic book superheroes will get a greenlight from studios these days, the case is actually quite different. There are several superhero movies we’ll never get to see, and unfortunately, there are also quite a couple of promising superhero television series that just didn’t move forward. While there are several good examples out there, it is not true that every project gets hashed out, finds a network, connects to an audience, and goes on to air for many years....
