I’ve so far only done a handful of quick Cinematic Video tests on my iPhone 13 Pro Max following my earlier macro photography tests. While the results haven’t been perfect, they have certainly been good enough to show the potential of the technology. In particular, the ability to adjust the focus points in editing makes it an extremely powerful tool. Honestly, for manual mode in particular, I’m excited… Some of my tests were of Steph during tango lessons with the amazing Diego Bado, and getting authorization to share dancing videos could be challenging, but she did agree to one clip of her receiving feedback....

The CW is welcoming the Arrowverse’s Batwoman, Ruby Rose, with open arms on social media. The John Wick: Chapter 2 and Orange is the New Black actress was announced as The CW’s Batwoman and will make her debut in the annual Arrowverse crossover in December 2018. Making a change from previous years, the upcoming Arrowverse won’t include all four shows, Legends of Tomorrow is excluded. This is, presumably, to give more time to introduce Ruby Rose’s Batwoman and her hometown of Gotham City....

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has signed on to star in the action comedy Guns Akimbo, as producers have started to pitch the film project to international buyers at the Cannes Film Festival. Even before he concluded his eight-film run as the titular character with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Radcliffe showed a willingness to take creative risks, beginning with his revealing role in the revival of Equus on Broadway, after he debuted the role on London’s West End in 2007....

Cable is an interesting character in the X-Men universe. Following the release of the Sparrow Racing League, players of video game developer Bungie’s latest first-person action shooter title, Destiny, have been left pondering the status of the property since the September 2015 launch of The Taken King - which marked the beginning of year two for its players. Where year one saw the individual releases of two expansion packs, namely The Dark Below and House of Wolves, word has already spread that further DLC content might not be forthcoming....

An artist is claiming that Disney and Lucasfilm plagiarized his work for Solo: A Star Wars Story’s posters. The upcoming Star Wars film publicly suffered from quite a few behind the scenes issues during production, which eventually led to Solo’s original directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, being booted from the project and Oscar-winning director Ron Howard signing onboard as their replacements shortly thereafter. Since Solo wrapped production in October 2017, it was presumed that Disney would ultimately delay the film from its scheduled May 2018 release date to December 2018 (in keeping with Lucasfilm’s release schedule for Star Wars films under Disney’s leadership; Solo is the only Star Wars movie that’s not releasing in December)....

In a couple more weeks (at the time of writing this) the biggest release of the year will finally hit theatres worldwide: Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. After not having a Star Wars movie on the big screen in ten years, J.J. Abrams will take us back to a galaxy far, far away in a new adventure, set 30 years after the events in Return of the Jedi....

Disney may have finally found a director for Cruella. The studio is running through their library of animated properties and giving them “new” tellings in the live-action setting. One of these projects is an origin movie starring Oscar-winner Emma Stone as 101 Dalmations villain Cruella de Vil. Development on Cruella began when Disney was first putting these live-action remakes in motion. The Devil Wears Prada writer Aline Brosh McKenna was the first to be hired to script the project back in 2013....

Should the Fox/Disney deal be blocked, Disney would have to pay a $2.5 billion breakup fee. The biggest media merger in years finally became a reality this week, when the Walt Disney Company agreed to purchase much of the film and TV assets of 21st Century Fox for $52.4 billion. While many observers of the movie world are approaching the deal in terms of what it means for future X-Men/MCU crossovers, the effects are much bigger than that, from the combination of two of studios that go back to the beginning of Hollywood, to the changing of hands of a staggering amount of major intellectual properties to the change in the composition of the ownership of Hulu to what it means for Disney’s streaming service plans....

For fans of Doctor Strange, the magic is already in the air as filming continues around the globe. In order to further promote their cinematic universe and give newcomers a taste of the past, Marvel will unveil their Phase Two Collection boxed set tomorrow. The 13 disc-set, which features a cool replica orb from Guardians of the Galaxy and six Phase Two films stretching back to Iron Man 3, also offers teasers about the upcoming Phase Three projects....

Better Call Saul’s ending is near, and despite being a prequel, it should happen after Breaking Bad. As if typical of prequels, Better Call Saul is moving towards a pre-defined endgame. We first met Saul Goodman halfway through the second season of Breaking Bad, and the show can take his story roughly as far as that fabled day when Walt and Jesse come a-knocking. Better Call Saul’s fourth season laid the groundwork for that, with a number of connections to and reveals about Breaking Bad, including the biggest step yet: the ending sees Jimmy adopting the name Saul Goodman in order to practice law....

In addition to directing, Lee is co-writing the Black Klansman script, which is adapted from the Ron Stallworth memoir of the same name. He will also co-produce alongside Jordan Peele (Get Out). Now, Black Klansman has added two more to its cast. As reported by The Tracking Board, Corey Hawkins, whose most recent on-screen credit was in last spring’s Kong: Skull Island, has signed on to play civil rights activist Stokely Carmichael, while one time That ’70s Show alum Topher Grace will play a white supremacist....

Director Bryan Singer is facing new allegations of sexual misconduct with underage boys. Having already made his name in the ’90s with films like the Oscar-winning crime mystery The Usual Suspects, Singer directed the first X-Men movie in 2000 and went on to helm three more films in the Marvel comic book-based franchise. Most recently, Singer called the shots on Bohemian Rhapsody, a biopic about the band Queen and singer Freddie Mercury’s rise to stardom....
