The Dark Tower barely beat Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk in its opening weekend, rounding out what’s been a slow summer box office. Director Nikolaj Arcel’s highly anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s novel opened to mostly poor reviews, sitting at 18% on Rotten Tomatoes as of Sunday. But The Dark Tower was still projected to beat out fellow new release Detroit and give Dunkirk a run when it first hit theaters. The Dark Tower was projected earlier this week to land at around $20-25 million in its first weekend, making back a good chunk of its relatively modest $66 million budget (including reshoots)....

The next member of the crew on DC’s Titans might have just been revealed to be Connor Kent aka. Superboy. Titans, which will launch on DC Comics’ own streaming service called DC Universe, is easily one of the company’s biggest upcoming live-action TV series. It’s also a bit of a gamble as besides a few set photos and official costume glimpses, very little is known about Titans. It has been confirmed that Titans will adapt the young superhero team of the same name, led by Robin (who will be played by Brenton Thwaites)....

It’s been quite a wild few years for comic creator Rob Liefeld, as he saw his brainchild Deadpool rocket to the big screen in his first solo movie earlier this summer and plans are already underway for a sequel. Though Liefeld is perhaps best known for creating Deadpool, the writer has a ton of other characters up his sleeve, and just as many adaptation ideas for each of them. The creator revealed earlier this year that he had penned a full Youngblood script, and now, it looks like another one of his characters, namely Avengelyne, is headed to the big screen for her own solo debut....

New seasons mean big changes for Destiny 2, and the upcoming Season of the Worthy will bring lots of tweaks for Exotic armor. Developer Bungie also recently announced that it will be changing the way that Legendary weapons work going forward, meaning Destiny 2’s gear is going to look quite different across the board soon. Of course, there’s a lot more coming in the next season of Destiny 2 than just changes to equipment....

Disney’s remake of a classic musical finds its writer in Danny Strong, who will be taking on the latest adaptation of the Dickens tale of Oliver Twist. The original tale of a little orphan boy turned pickpocket who finally finds a home has been adapted time and time again; most famously in 1968 in the Oscar-winning movie musical Oliver!, but also in the Disney animated film Oliver And Company (which sees the titular character turned into a little orange cat)....
