The success of Marvel’s newest film has been staggering, as Black Panther keeps breaking records. After a huge debut, the film has continued to dominate every day of the week as well as beating The Avengers when it comes to box office milestones. There’s no telling where the film will end up, but it’s poised for another big weekend around the world....

This theme extends to the mid-credits scene, in which King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) proclaims his intention to share Wakanda’s knowledge and resources with the rest of the world for the first time....

Despite a proclamation that he had retired from playing Ash, Bruce Campbell is set to return as the character in an Evil Dead video game. A new report finds that the biggest pay TV providers have lost more than 300,000 customers in the first quarter of 2018, and cable TV has 3.4 million subscribers since 2012. The rise of video-on-demand streaming services like Netflix and Hulu has led to increasing numbers of people opting become cord cutters - dropping their pay TV subscriptions in favor of online services. The number of pay-TV subscribers peaked in 2012, but has been on a slow slide downwards since then....

Captain Marvel is heading to theaters in a few months, but the character will also soon be heading to Disney Parks around the world. Captain Marvel has been around since the late ’60s, but this year, the character will be featured in her first ever live-action movie with Brie Larson in the role of Carol Danvers. Ever since Disney bought Marvel Studios, they have been working on implementing characters and settings from the superhero genre into their parks....

Netflix’s new festive film The Christmas Chronicles has mixed reviews, some naughty and some nice. A big Thanksgiving release from the streaming service, the latest Netflix original movie stars Kurt Russell as Santa Claus in a desperate (and funny) mission to save Christmas when he loses his sleigh. Produced by Chris Columbus, The Christmas Chronicles pitches itself in the vein of his classical seasonal staples such as Gremlins and Home Alone....

After Jurassic World surpassed even the rosiest box office expectations last year and grossed $1.6 billion worldwide, it became clear that a sequel would be in order. Jurassic World 2 is slated to begin production in February 2017 and is being positioned as the second film in a trilogy. With J.A. When retired Pittsburgh Steelers center, and Hall of Famer, Mike Webster (David Morse) commits suicide, after months of erratic behavior, his body comes before Nigerian-born forensic neuropathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu (Will Smith). Charged with determining the true cause of Webster’s death, the affliction that lead to the Football player’s descent into mental instability, Omalu formulates a theory: repeated blows to the head, as experienced by football players over a decade on the field, irreversibly damages the brain - leading to dangerous mental impairments (depression, anxiety, memory loss, and aggression, among other symptoms)....

The CW has arguably produced the best superhero TV series since they first debuted Arrow, which kicked off a number of spin-offs and new series that further expanded what eventually became known as the Arrowverse. Since the series began from one point it has made it easy to crossover the series, and every year fans wait patiently for the crossover events that have gotten bigger with each annual outing. Following last year’s “Elseworlds” event, which introduced the new character of Batwoman and yet another alternate Earth, this year’s crossover event was teased - “Crisis on Infinite Earths....

On the heels of last month’s surprising cancellation for Netflix’s Daredevil, new reports from the cast suggest they had been expecting season 4 of the series to begin filming in February 2019. Daredevil is the third live-action Marvel series to be officially cancelled by the streaming giant in recent months, following in the footsteps of Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Launched in 2015, Daredevil was an instant hit for Netflix. Over the course of three seasons, the series quickly became one of the streaming service’s more popular shows and garnered critical acclaim - all but erasing the memories of 2003’s widely panned film adaptation featuring Ben Affleck....

Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg says the movie’s original ending was similar to Captain America: Civil War. Fox’s mainline X-Men films reach their conclusion this week with Dark Phoenix, which is the final X-Men movie that started production before Disney’s purchase of Fox’s movie and television assets. And although the studio still has its New Mutants spinoff in the pipeline and scheduled for release in 2020, the film is expected to have few (if any) direct connections to the X-Men prequel series that Dark Phoenix belongs to....

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff started his corporate journey like many do- as an intern. In a recent podcast, Benioff shares what he learned from his internship at Apple in 1984. Before joining Apple, Benioff was an entrepreneur. At 15 years old, he founded Liberty Software, where he created and sold Atari games. Two of DC’s major characters have received the Disney treatment in a new piece of fan art. Zachary Levi recently suited up as the titular superhero in the latest DCEU outing: Shazam! Dwayne Johnson, meanwhile, has long been attached to play his comic book nemesis, Black Adam. Many fans expected the infamous villain to make at least a post-credits cameo in the recent film, but, reportedly due to Johnson’s suggestion, it wasn’t to be....

Netflix’s new interactive story experience Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is so complex that it has some scenes that may never be accessed, and one that’s completely inaccessible. The episode uses Netflix’s interactive storytelling technology to allow viewers to decide the direction that the narrative takes - from small decisions like what kind of cereal to have for breakfast, to major decisions like deciding which of two characters will jump to their death from a balcony....

USA Network has officially announced that it is picking up the Jason Bourne TV spinoff Treadstone to series. The show is being written and executive produced by Tim Kring, with Ramin Bahrani (director of HBO’s Fahrenheit 451) lined up to call the shots on the pilot episode. While Matt Damon is now the actor that most people immediately associate with the Jason Bourne character, the amnesiac super-agent turned antihero was originally played by Richard Chamberlain in a made-for-TV adaptation of Robert Ludlum’s 1980 novel The Bourne Identity, some fourteen years before Damon played the role in Doug Liman’s 2002 Bourne Identity film....

Brie Larson recently visited an Air Force base to prepare for her upcoming role in Captain Marvel. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to get much bigger in the next two years. Black Panther comes out in just a few weeks, and Marvel Studios has two more Avengers films on the horizon, as well as Ant-Man & The Wasp. The latter will be Marvel’s first film to give a female co-billing, but it will be Captain Marvel that delivers the first MCU female solo movie....
