Disney has confirmed new release dates for two of its upcoming live-action retellings. The current system for getting into Disneyland’s Star Wars-themed Galaxy’s Edge is working well for the theme park. When Galaxy’s Edge first opened, Disneyland set up an online system for guests that allowed them to request Galaxy’s Edge reservations weeks in advance for specific four-hour periods to visit the land with Disney hotel guests guaranteed access. The reservations were free, but were also limited, meaning not everyone could get in....

It’s impossible to discuss groundbreaking, progressive TV shows without including Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The series has been lauded for its feminist elements, not just because it features a strong, butt-kicking protagonist, but for its exploration of female friendships, sexuality, and agency. Buffy has also been regarded for its queer positivity, being the first network series to ever depict a lesbian sex scene. While Buffy may have been ahead of its time, the show premiered over 20 years ago....
Dylan O’Brien is voicing Bumblebee in the character’s solo movie spinoff/prequel. The live-action Transformers adventure takes place in the 1980s and follows Bee as he ventures to earth to carry out a secret mission for Optimus Prime, ultimately teaming up with a teenager named Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) along the way. Since the movie revolves around Bumblebee as a younger Autobot, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura says the film’s creatives wanted Bee’s voice to have a youthful quality that reflects his relative inexperience in the story....

The Child’s Play end credits tease a return to form for Chucky. In the original 1988 film, Brad Dourif voiced the knife-wielding villain, with voodoo allowing the soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray to inhabit a Good Guys doll. For the 2019 Child’s Play remake, Mark Hamill voices Chucky and provides a more subtle performance as the rogue Buddi doll. By the end, though, his menacing interpretation of the Buddi theme song suggests the inevitable sequel will feature an out of control Chucky....

D.J. Caruso is in talks to direct Paramount Pictures’ feature film adaptation of Are You Afraid of the Dark?. The original television series ran on Nickelodeon for an entire decade, spanning seven seasons and a total of 91 episodes. The TV show revolved around a group of kids called The Midnight Society, who would gather in the woods each week to tell ghost stories. It has been almost 19 years since the show was last on the air, but Paramount is set to spook a new generation of kids with their movie....
The second season of the Netflix Original Series Daredevil is already on the way for release in March 2016, with a series of new episodes set to explore darker territories than Hell’s Kitchen lawyer Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) has faced so far, including a rivalry with Frank Castle/The Punisher (Joe Bernthal), and the return of his old college squeeze, Elektra Natachios (Elodie Yung).
