He worked in hiding for two years, prior to returning to his prominent heroic place when Thanos threatened all life. During that time, plenty changed in Cap’s life, but he was joined by some of his closest crime-fighting friends....

Fans are wishing a new fan-made poster for Captain Marvel was the movie’s official poster. Marvel has yet to officially release any art or images of Brie Larson in-costume as Captain Marvel, other than concept art that was shown to Comic-Con International attendees last summer, but Captain Marvel set photos have been keeping fans occupied. Larson has been seen multiple times in a blue-and-green suit but not in a suit with her classic red-and-blue colors yet....

Marvel is expanding into adult party games, as Deadpool Vs The World will merge Cards Against Humanity with the Regeneratin’ Degenerate. Since his debut in 1991, Deadpool has been a big hit for Marvel comics. The fourth-wall breaking mercenary spent years with a cult following before finally making the jump to the big screen in the much-maligned X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but 2016’s Deadpool gave him a more proper spotlight. Already headlining multiple comics for Marvel, the film’s success has seen merchandising and name recognition for the Merc with a Mouth explode....

In a bit of eerie “what could’ve been” casting news, Death Note director Adam Wingard revealed that his top two choices for the voice of the demonic death god Ryuk were two recently deceased pop song icons. Wingard, director of horror films like Blair Witch and The Guest plus the upcoming blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong, has had to face his share of issues throughout the production of his Netflix adaptation of the uber-popular Japanese manga series....

Hideo Kojima’s long-awaited Death Stranding will be released in 2019 - at least, according to Best Buy. Death Stranding is a game that followed in the aftermath of Kojima’s somewhat bitter breakup with longtime publisher Konami. It didn’t take long for Sony to snatch up the auteur following his exit, and they soon put him to work on the PlayStation 4 exclusive. Death Stranding also serves as a reunion between Kojima, Norman Reedus and Guillermo del Toro after all three men collaborated on the canceled sequel Silent Hills....

Channing Tatum could be the latest star to join Universal’s Dark Universe, with the studio setting their sights on him to star in Van Helsing. The Dark Universe has only just begun with The Mummy launching worldwide at the beginning of the summer. Co-produced by Sam Raimi and Craig Flores, Aja’s movie - described in Screen Rant’s review as ‘excellent gatorsploitation’ - mixes the disaster and animal attack genres to create an action-packed survival horror that’s as fun and darkly funny as it is scary. The CW’s Roswell reboot has cast Grey’s Anatomy actress Jeanine Mason in the lead role. Originally based on the Roswell High young adult book series, The WB’s run of Roswell drew favorable reviews and spawned a dedicated fan base. But, ultimately, declining ratings forced the show’s cancellation after three seasons. The original Roswell suffered from inconsistent narratives and an unclear direction for the show from producers, but it appears that there’s a more defined plan for the second go-around....

Perhaps the biggest movie surprise of 2016 so far has been the enormous success of 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool, starring a resurgent Ryan Reynolds as the sharp-tongued, quick-witted Wade Wilson. Having made a whopping $760 million at the worldwide box office, its measly $58 million budget has ensured massive profits and at the very least one sequel that’s currently in the works. In fact, the film’s screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were so eager to pen a sequel, they did so before it had even been greenlit....

Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid has cast Halle Bailey to play Ariel. Following in the footsteps of fellow Disney Animation hits like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King, the tale of Ariel the mermaid princess is getting a live-action makeover, complete with all (or, at the least, most) of the original songs from the studio’s Oscar-winning 1989 animated feature. And like the Mouse House’s other fairy tale re-imaginings of late, the expectation is that the film will try and tap in audience’s nostalgia for its predecessor, while at the same time “fixing” and/or tweaking the elements from the animated version that haven’t aged so well in the last thirty years....
