Fresh off its Golden Globe wins, Fox is set to re-release Bohemian Rhapsody to theaters in a new version the audience is meant to sing-along with. A movie based on the life and legacy of legendary rock band Queen and its endlessly charismatic frontman Freddie Mercury always seemed like a natural prospect. Ever since the first toys were created in 1984, the shape-changing robots known as Transformers have been a mainstay in pop culture. Michael Bay brought them to the big screen in five movies that grossed over $4 billion combined, but declining box office hauls and worse reception meant it was time for a change....

There won’t be a campaign in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, but the studio will have three separate Zombies experiences for players to play at launch. The first experience that Treyarch unveiled is called “IX,” which starts a brand new storyline that has players battling against an ancient order in a Roman battle arena. The second (also starring the new cast) is called “Voyage of Despair,” which takes place on a luxurious cruise ship - perhaps the Titanic, which means players will be traveling through time....

Popular video editing software DaVinci Resolve was quietly revealed as coming to iPad today as Apple announced its newest tablets. It’s unclear which iPads will be compatible with the iPadOS version of Resolve, but Apple touted the M2 chip in the new iPad Pro as enhancing the upcoming pro app. Update 10/20: Blackmagic Design has made an official announcement about DaVinci Resolve coming to iPad. The software will arrive as a free download during Q4 this year with an in-app purchase for DaVinci Resolve Studio expected to run $95....

Actor Joe Morton says there are still plans for a Cyborg solo movie to happen, and that the film may use scrapped storylines from 2017’s Justice League. Morton played scientist Silas Stone in Justice League, the father of Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher). As a follow-up to Justice League, the Cyborg standalone film has already had a troubled history. With the continued desire among fans for a “Snyder cut” of Justice League and ongoing confusion as to how much of the story was altered by Joss Whedon’s reshoots, there are many questions about the original intentions for the DC heroes portrayed in the film....

Blade Runner 2049 gets off to a solid start at the box office after grossing $4 million in Thursday night preview screenings. Like most attempts to follow-up cult classic films, the initial prospect of a Blade Runner sequel was met trepidatiously by fans. However, as trailers began to tease the moody and atmospheric sequel from director Denis Villeneuve, the general outlook towards Blade Runner 2049 began to improve. That might be an understatement at this stage, seeing as reviews for the film have so far been glowing....

Abbi had a very surprising alter-ego as the jazz singer Val in Broad City - and here’s the story behind the persona. The Comedy Central series - which ended in March after a five-season run - was created by Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, who also star as the lead characters. The series followed Abbi and Ilana as they navigated life as twenty-somethings in New York City. Broad City was based on the women’s real-life friendship with dramatized and comedic twists to churn up all sorts of shenanigans....

The Transformers’ home planet of Cybertron will be seen in Bumblebee. After years of letting director Michael Bay take control of the Transformers franchise, new life is being breathed into the property. Paramount is giving an entire spinoff to their mute yellow VW Beetle Transformer, Bumblebee. The movie is led by Hailee Steinfeld to help set it apart from the films that came before. Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight, meanwhile, is the one creating the film from his own vision....

Cheech Marin has revealed he was offered the lead role in the Super Mario Bros movie. Super Mario Bros was Hollywood’s first attempt at adapting a video game into a movie, but the production was famously messy from day one. Directors Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel decided that instead of the sunny, kid-friendly visuals of the game, they wanted to set the movie in a dystopian, Blade Runner-style city. After a long casting search Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper were chosen for Mario, Luigi and Koopa respectively....

The first teaser trailer for Jumanji 3 has been revealed, and it contains a surprising, game-changing twist for the sequel: Danny DeVito is The Rock! Yes, the crux of the story of Jumanji: The Next Level is that it takes two new players into the game, played by DeVito and Danny Glover, who are transformed into Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart respectively. It is, as you’d expect, utterly ridiculous, and yet also completely brilliant....

A trio of promo spots for Deadpool 2 confirms that the movie’s tickets will be available for purchase starting this Thursday. Story details are still scarce at the moment but based on the trailers, the film is properly setting up an X-Force offshoot with Deadpool and Cable eventually coming together to lead their new squad of mutants. Helmed by John Wick co-director David Leitch, who took over from original Deadpool helmer Tim Miller following his departure due to creative differences with Ryan Reynolds, the film promises to be a bigger and crazier sequel (hopefully in a good way) with a slew of new characters joining Wade Wilson’s original crew from 2016....

Viewers awaiting the big screen debut of everyone’s favorite Merc with a Mouth in director Tim Miller’s Deadpool likely know by now that the forthcoming film will feature Ryan Reynolds in the lead role playing the character of Wade Wilson largely as he is featured in the Marvel Comics. Bottom line, the new film will be a much filthier take on the X-Men universe than has been previously established by the likes of Bryan Singer, and as such has already been banned in China for said obscenities....
