The most recent box office projections for Deadpool 2 indicate the sequel will in fact surpass the opening weekend of its predecessor. Released in 2016, the original Deadpool broke records during its box office run, earning $132.5 million in its first frame. It eventually ended up as the highest-grossing X-Men film of all-time ($363 million domestically), giving Fox a go-to franchise for years to come. Detective Pikachu stars Ryan Reynolds as the talking electric mouse in the first live-action Pokémon movie. Starring alongside Justice Smith, Rob Letterman’s film will see Pikachu investigate the mysterious disappearance of Pokémon from Ryme City. Although this is a Pokémon movie, the story is based on a Nintendo DS game, not the classics that most fans are familiar with. However, Detective Pikachu could lead to more movies down the line....

Netflix has warned viewers against attempting a viral challenge based on their recent post-apocalyptic film Bird Box. Geoff Johns is bringing a live-action Stargirl series to DC Universe. One of the early winners of San Diego Comic-Con 2018 has been DC’s upcoming digital service. The previously announced platform debuted the first trailer for their first live-action series Titans earlier today. That wasn’t all, as they also detailed pricing and subscription plans for the service. The service was guaranteed to get a bit more coverage with Young Justice: Outsiders set to have a panel all its own, and some promotional art already revealed Darkseid’s role....

In addition to bringing back Deadpool and other favorites from the original film, the upcoming superhero sequel Deadpool 2 introduces a bunch of new characters to the franchise, many of them fan favorites from the comics.
