While co-creator Chuck Lorre already boasted a winning track record prior to its debut, one imagines most involved with The Big Bang Theory didn’t anticipate that it would continue on for well past a decade. After all, new TV comedies debut every year, and the vast majority are lucky to even survive their first season, much less get a second one....

During E3 2019, Pearl Abyss announced that their highly popular MMORPG Black Desert would finally launch on PlayStation 4. Also announced was the intention for a global release of the game’s mobile counterpart, Black Desert Mobile. This news comes a few months after the highly publicized release of Black Desert on Xbox One, where the game was well received by fans and critics alike for its natural transition to a console platform....

Michael Stuhlbarg says director Luca Guadagnino is “serious” about making a Call Me By Your Name sequel that picks up with Elio and Oliver a few years after their summer in Italy together. For his part, Guadagnino has said the next film would take place in Berlin circa 1989, six years after the events of the first movie. The sequel would further dive into the politics of the decade by exploring the AIDS crisis, and has the support of Call Me By Your Name book author Andrée Aciman....

Actor Jamie Bell is keen to work on a sequel to 2011’s The Adventures of Tintin and is onboard with the idea of co-star Andy Serkis taking over directorial duties. Based on the beloved series of comics by Belgian author Hergé, the motion-capture based film assembled a creative dream team of Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Edgar Wright, and Steven Moffat among others, with Bell being cast in the title role after Thomas Sangster was forced to withdraw....

Good news for pacifist video gamers: Cyberpunk 2077 won’t require players to kill anyone within the game. The title is the latest project from The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red, who pretty much won E3 2019 with a gritty new Cyberpunk 2077 trailer that featured actor Keanu Reeves. Set in a futuristic world where everyone has some kind of cybernetic augmentation, Cyberpunk 2077 is an expansive open-world RPG that makes The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt look like child’s play....

Dave Bautista expresses his love for director Zack Snyder, and how working together on Army of the Dead was a long time coming. Also starring Ella Purnell and Theo Rossi, the film, described as a zombie-heist thriller, will see Snyder return to the director’s chair for the first time in a number of years. After kicking off the DCEU franchise with 2013’s Man of Steel, he went on to direct the follow-up installments Batman V Superman and Justice League....

Though the track record for most live-action video game adaptations isn’t especially stellar, it’s encouraging to hear that something as popular as Pokémon is garnering positive reviews. Based on the video game of the same name, Detective Pikachu follows the titular “Electric-type” Pokémon (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) as he aims to solve a missing persons case....

[Warning: Possible SPOILERS for Marvel’s Doctor Strange ahead.] - We’ve seen Marvel’s Phase Three kick off in impressive fashion with Captain America: Civil War which has now made over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Next up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring Doctor Strange, where the Sherlock actor assumes the role of Stephen Strange: a brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon who, after experiencing a life-changing car accident, seeks the help of a powerful Sorcerer known as The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) in order to heal himself....

Despite great word-of-mouth and excellent reviews, a long-awaited sci-fi sequel fared worse at the box office than anticipated. In first this weekend is Blade Runner 2049 (read our review), which brought in $31.5 million in its first three days. This figure is well below original expectations heading into Friday, as some estimates thought it could legitimately challenge the October opening weekend record. Sadly, the acclaimed film from director Denis Villeneuve did not have as much commercial appeal as Warner Bros....

Bob’s Burgers distinguishes itself from fellow adult animation by its style, though it has some familiar tropes. It takes an everyday family and gives them more relatable issues, like financial problems. And the comedy is truly unique, with characters that stammer and generally speak like actual people. There’s also “camera” tricks and a consistent subversion of expectations. Even the troublemaker Louise is often revealed to be kind of a softie. She frequently has more empathy than even she expects....

Brightburn had a pretty weak opening at the box office, but that doesn’t mean it’s a commercial failure. Officially announced in 2018, the new film from producer James Gunn looks to put a fresh spin on the superhero genre. It clearly mines inspiration from the classic Superman origin story, only imagining what it would be like if Clark Kent was destined to be evil instead of a savior. Many critics felt it was a suitably creepy genre mashup, but didn’t explore its premise as fully as it could have....

For years, Hollywood has been attempting to get a modern adaptation of the classic Jules Verne novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea off the ground. For a while, David Fincher was attached to direct such a project, but the film was canceled in the summer of 2013 for a variety of reasons, including scheduling conflicts and a whopping $200 million budget. But the movie’s hopes of reaching the big screen didn’t die when Fincher departed....

How will Captain Marvel fit in with the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe? Marvel’s Phase 3 movies have been completely out of sequence, with Captain Marvel actually set in the 1990s. It will surely reveal a previously-unseen part of S.H.I.E.L.D. history, with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Clark Gregg’s Phil Coulson both slated to appear. So far, all attention has been on the question of how this film relates to Avengers: Infinity War and next year’s Avengers 4....

Super Evil Megacorp, the company behind the popular Vainglory game, teased earlier this year its new battleground game Catalyst Black. Now the game is officially available for iOS and Android users around the world. Catalyst Black was first demoed at the Apple’s iPhone 13 keynote in September 2021. The game takes players into a “new world of epic battles” in which they can choose powerful weapons and change their abilities. The Ghostbusters franchise is one of the most iconic in pop culture, beginning with the original movie in 1984. The film’s perfect blend of comedy and special effects made it an instant hit, though none of the cast was eager for a sequel at the time. Instead, a cartoon dubbed The Real Ghostbusters kept the franchise alive, and built on the mythology and ideas introduced in the film....
