When it comes to the Marvel Universe, there is no shortage of powerful villains capable of causing damage on an unimaginable scale. Although, when it comes to pure physical power, one of the strongest recognized villains is without a doubt, Cain Marko, aka The Juggernaut. Since his debut in 1965, Juggernaut has made huge waves in the Marvel franchise. He is featured across various mediums, including, television, video games, and even films....

The Deadpool movies were one of the only things going well for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise – the fans were satisfied with how the characters were being portrayed, they did consistently well at the box office, and a wider universe had been set up. An X-Force movie and a third Deadpool movie are in development. However, a spanner has been thrown in the works in the form of Fox’s merger with Disney, which gave the rights to the X-Men back to Marvel....

Detective Pikachu has just fallen short of the tally required for it to have become the highest grossing video game movie of all time. A loose adaptation of the Nintendo DS puzzle game of the same name, its story saw a young man named Tim searching for his detective father, missing and presumed dead. He teams up with his father’s amnesiac Pikachu partner, who unlike regular Pokémon can inexplicably speak normally but only to Tim’s ears, to look into his disappearance....

The still-alive Die Hard 6 has hired The Conjuring duo Chad and Carey Hayes to perform a script rewrite. Bruce Willis just last month confirmed the long-planned Die Hard sequel is still moving forward at 20th Century Fox. The plan at one time was to make Die Hard 6 a prequel/sequel hybrid, with a new actor coming aboard as a young John McClane. But who knows if that is still the direction producers wish to go....

Disney’s purchase of Fox means the X-Men can join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that wasn’t the motivating factor for the Mouse House. Today, Disney officially bought 20th Century Fox for $52.4 billion, effectively changing the face of the Hollywood landscape. While we won’t see the full ramifications for this deal for some time, one thing’s for certain: many Marvel fans will be overjoyed at the number of characters coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including any number of the X-Men....

Big Little Lies season 2 is happening, and the show will be bringing back Adam Scott. Despite being originally pitched as a miniseries, the award-winning show will return with a star-studded second season presenting an original story by author Liane Moriarty that continues the stories of the characters. The first season covered the events of Moriarty’s 2014 best-selling novel, telling the story of three mothers who bond over their difficult personal histories while taking their children to their first day of kindergarten....

Remasters, re-releases and remakes is a very popular pastime for games publishers these days. Nintendo has made classic titles like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time available on five separate consoles, including the original platform it was made for. Meanwhile, many PS3 and Xbox 360 games eventually arrived on PS4 and Xbox One not long after the new consoles launched. The BioShock series (in particular the first game) is probably pretty high on many gamers’ wishlists when it comes to remastered editions of previously released games....

At Microsoft’s E3 press conference, Xbox Game Studios’ Blair Witch was revealed, and is a hugely unexpected throwback to the 1999 film that spawned the found film horror genre. It follows an original story, and it looks damn scary. Xbox at E3 2019 is all about the games, and Blair Witch is one of literally dozens. Recently rebooted by the 2016 film of the same name, this new Blair Witch game looks like Outlast set in a terrifying, fever dream-like forest....

Buffy the Vampire Slayer still remains one of the most successful and beloved genre shows after over twenty years. The fan base is still loyal and rabid and its legacy still lives on in the forms of collectibles, toys, and comics. With that in mind, it’s surprising that it doesn’t seem to have a lasting impact on television in the manner of shows like Star Trek or Doctor Who. Buffy’s single spinoff, Angel, only lasted one year beyond the end of its parent series....

According to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, the upcoming Captain Marvel movie will set up Brie Larson’s character as the center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 4 and beyond. Set in 1995, Marvel’s 21st big-screen adaptation explores the origin story of Carol Danvers, an American Air Force pilot who ultimately becomes part of an intergalactic Kree military team known as Starforce. Captain Marvel reportedly precedes the Guardians of the Galaxy storyline but doesn’t explicitly set up that plot....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe turns 10 years old next year, following the release of the original Iron Man back in 2008. It’s only fitting then that Marvel Studios is “commemorating” the occasion with the release of Avengers: Infinity War, a game-changing installment in the MCU that (in combination with the untitled fourth Avengers movie arriving in 2019) will usher in not only Phase 4 of the MCU, but a new era for Marvel’s shared universe in general....

The title and cast have been revealed for season 4 of Syfy’s horror anthology series Channel Zero. The new season will premiere later this year. Created by Nick Antosca, Channel Zero is a horror anthology series based on creepypastas, which are horror stories posted on forums and other websites on the internet often with the intention of scaring readers. Each season consists of six episodes and tells a different story, complete with a whole new cast....

Curb Your Enthusiasm star J.B. Smoove has just revealed that the highly anticipated ninth season of the series will premiere October 1 on HBO. Smoove, who plays the hilarious and always charming Leon Black has been something of an unofficial spokesman for the new season, ever since filming began in Los Angeles last November. To date we knew that a new season of Curb would air at some point in 2017, but an exact date had not been announced....

The DC Universe got a little bit larger today, with the popular streaming service expanding the size of its comic book library. Despite this, the subscription fee will remain the same at $7.99 per month or $74.99 for a full year. Launching on September 15, 2018 to rave reviews, DC Universe is an online streaming service unlike any other. While comparable services offer on-demand video, original programming and e-book access, DC Universe is one of the few electronic resources that provide all three....

In his own twisted and unhinged way, Marvel’s Deadpool, a.k.a. Wade Wilson is quite the sympathetic character. Having been stricken down by a host of cancerous tumours, Wilson signed on for some experimental treatment by way of a rather shady government run genetic research facility. The end result was of course, Deadpool – the accelerated healing, smartass mercenary, otherwise known as the Merc With a Mouth. By all logical accounts, fans should be repulsed by Deadpool’s penchant for violence and mayhem, but his past history, hideous complexion, and genuine desire to right the wrongs that have been done to him tend to keep negative opinions at bay....

For those in the dark, Death Note is a manga series with a delightfully twisted premise: A young student discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anybody whose name he writes inside. He takes it upon himself to launch a crusade to rid the world of “evil,” only to attract an investigation by the police and the world’s greatest detective. The story has been adapted multiple times, as both an anime and live-action Japanese film series....

Doctor Doom movie writer Noah Hawley says there is a sense of “uncertainty” about the project considering the looming Disney-Fox merger. It came as a surprise last year when it was reported Disney was looking to acquire 20th Century Fox. Of course, many Marvel fans wondered what the potential merger would mean for Fox’s ongoing X-Men film series, since the rights to the mutants and Fantastic Four would revert back to Marvel Studios....

Musician-actor Harry Styles has entered talks to play Prince Eric in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of its animated feature, The Little Mermaid. Assuming that he signs on, he will join a cast that includes his fellow singer-performer Halle Bailey as the mermaid Ariel, in addition to Melissa McCarthy as the sea witch Ursula. A live-action retelling of Disney’s animated 1989 feature (itself, adapted from Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale), The Little Mermaid is being directed by Rob Marshall from a script by his Mary Poppins Returns writer David Magee and an earlier draft by Jane Goldman (Kingsman)....

It’s been almost ten years since James Cameron’s Avatar first delighted moviegoers and then went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time. The science-fiction film starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver took audiences to the far away planet of Pandora in the Alpha Centauri star system and introduced us to the tribe of aliens called Na’vi. Yet even though the world Cameron created is wondrous on its own, it’s the film’s use of stereoscopic 3D filmmaking that really allowed viewers to immerse themselves like never before....
