Black Panther continues its rise up the all-time charts, passing the domestic totals of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Dark Knight over the weekend. By now, much has been said about the film’s box office success, which surpassed even the rosiest expectations when it premiered about a month ago. Black Panther’s shattering of the February opening weekend record was just the start of an impressive run that saw it rewrite the history books, setting numerous new marks as it took advantage of word-of-mouth and minimal competition....

All good things must come to an end, and Starz seems more than ready to give their pirate drama, Black Sails, a magnificent send off. Fans have been given three seasons with each progressively better than the one before it as we followed the Urca de Lima gold. This year’s reboot of Candyman features some surprise returning characters from the original film. The new Jordan Peele production, directed by Nia DaCosta, also has some actors reprising their roles from the 1992 film – and some intriguing replacements. Bernard Rose’s Candyman was one of the few horror films from the 90’s to generate big scares and critical praise. Chris Hemsworth has finished filming Sony Pictures’ Men in Black spinoff. Directed by Straight Outta Compton and Fate of the Furious helmer F. Gary Gray with a screenplay from Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the still-untitled offshoot will center London-based operatives, Agent H (Hemsworth) and Agent M (Tessa Thompson). It’s unclear how the upcoming movie will connect (or if it will) to the original series, but Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) and Agent J (Will Smith) are not expected to appear in this one....

DC is going to showcase some exciting reveals and trailers at SDCC 2018. But with a massive slate of projects currently in development that include everything from The Batman to Aquaman, what should fans expect? The sequel to 2016’s Deadpool, Deadpool 2 has already wrapped filming ahead of its release next year, which means that it is currently in the (long) process of editing, digital effects, and of course, scoring. With just under seven months until release, it’s right on schedule, despite the issue of the original director (Tim Miller) stepping down to direct another movie....

Earlier this week, Israeli startup Wi-Charge revealed its plans to introduce a truly wireless charger, which would not require the device to lie on a Qi base. Wi-Charge’s CEO Ori Mor mentioned that this product could be released as soon as this year thanks to a partnership with Belkin, but now the accessory maker says it’s “too early” to talk about it. Belkin spokesman Jen Wei confirmed in a statement (via Ars Technica) that the company has been working closely with Wi-Charge on product concepts....

Björn Runge is a Swedish director and author. In his newest film The Wife he teams up with acting stars Glenn Close, Jonathan Pryce, and Christian Slater. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Meg Wolitzer, with a screenplay written by Jane Anderson. It tells the story of Joan Castleman (Glenn Close) reflecting on her life during a trip to Stockholm. Her husband (Jonathan Pryce) is going to receive a Nobel Prize in Literature and the couple is travelling to Stockholm for the presentation....

Captain Marvel Resurrecting Coulson Explained In the modern continuity of the MCU, Coulson was resurrected by S.H.I.E.L.D. on Fury’s orders using Kree technology under the secretive Project TAHITI. In the current season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., however, it was revealed Coulson is dying from the wound he suffered in The Avengers. As explained by the show, the deal he made with Ghost Rider in season 4 is slowly undoing the healing of the Kree tech that brought him back to life....

CCP Games’ eagerly anticipated spiritual successor to DUST 514 is coming to PC this year and while very few official details have been revealed about Project Nova, we have learned some of what to expect from the next EVE-based first-person shooter. At EVE Fanfest 2016, a super early alpha build was shown off and made playable, serving as a proof of concept. It has not been showcased since but at EVE Fanfest 2017 we spoke to Jean-Charles Gaudechon who was running point on the game while it was being developed out of the now defunct CCP Shanghai studio....

The copycat social feature was destined for cancelation from the start, but the spirit of Connect had good intentions that should still be explored. Dis-Connect Apple Music Connect started as a launch feature for the streaming music service six years ago. Apple is once again experimenting with ways to integrate a camera into the Apple Watch. According to Patently Apple, the company’s latest idea is to put a camera into the digital crown. With this, users can snap a photo on their wrist by pointing the digital crown toward the subject. Today’s patent shows the user being able to remove the watch if needed, since some users wear the digital crown pointing inward on their wrist....
