Captain Marvel will not only introduce the first female superhero to headline her own MCU movie, it’s also poised to be a prequel to Guardians of the Galaxy. Set in the 1990s, at least ten years before Tony Stark donned Iron Man’s armor, Captain Marvel will depict the origin story of Carol Danvers (Oscar-winner Brie Larson), who will become Earth’s Mightiest Hero. Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple will not appear in Iron Fist season 2. According to Marvel Television’s Jeph Loeb, the character will next appear when she fits with the story - and she doesn’t work with this one. When Marvel launched their popular Netflix shows back in 2015, they swiftly decided to use Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple as the “Nick Fury” of their world. Speaking at Ace Comic Con Phoenix, Michael Fassbender has explained Magneto’s role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, discussing Magneto’s mutant sanctuary in the film. There have been previous reports that the Master of Magnetism has left his old life behind and settled down as ruler of the mutant nation of Genosha. That’s a role he occupied in the comics in the late ’90s/early 2000s. The island nation of Genosha is lifted straight from the comics and was introduced as a metaphor on Apartheid....

Throughout his extensive comedic career, Chappelle has gained an enormous following, and established himself as one of the most intriguing and often mysterious figures working in comedy today. Ticket sales of Ryan Reynolds’ superhero sequel Deadpool 2 are so brisk on Fandango that the film is on pace to become the top R-rated film in presales in the online ticket merchant’s 18-year history. The first Deadpool movie, of course, was a worldwide blockbuster, having earned more than $783 million worldwide in 2016. Of that gigantic total, Deadpool’s domestic box office tally was $363 million, making it at the time only the third R-rated film in movie history to eclipse the $300 million mark stateside, preceded by The Passion of the Christ ($370....

An alt-right smear campaign has achieved its goal of getting Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn fired over behavior he’d long since apologized for - but it’s not too late for Disney to rehire him.
